Can anyone tell me why? in the Pfaff VIP emb. program, when I rename the stitchfile it turns from a blue stitch file icon, to a red read only file (which then cannot be stitched) Vickiannette.

When you change a file name it is very important to leave the file extension in tact. For example, if your file is "abc123.vip", and you want to change it to "pink flower" you must leave the .vip at the end. So you'd change it to pinkflower.vip. I found this out the hard way also after losing some of my designs.

vickiannette, it's very important to do backups of all your designs, and on a regular basis. Love and hugs sweetie.

Vickiannette, a big welcome to our Cute family. I really don't know why your files can't be stitched out after renaming, maybe a quirk of the emb program. I would save the file to a different folder - without renaming. If it still won't stitch out then, you should check that the file is being saved as the correct format for your machine, if your machine is a Pfaff I think it should be a PCS file. You might need to change that setting yourself when you save. Love and hugs sweetie, and hang in here, someone might come along with a better answer.
