Janome 350 e users-please tell my if your machine will use a larger hoop than 5x7. My dealer knows nothing of this. Can the giga hoop be used with it and how. Thanks Lisa

I see Ruthie gave you the correct answer. I'm curious; did you received any software from your dealer? You would need Customizer, Digitizer or something similar to be able to load designs onto your machine. I have a 10001, I know from Marji that there are a few differences, but I'm not exactly sure what they are other than the 10001 sews too. If you don't have the appropriate software, you cannot use the gigahoop since it is the software that splits and rotates the design.

Lisa, you have a Janome dealer? Holy cow! Is there a place on the Janome website to report incompetent dealers? That's a really 'basic' question you asked, and if she knew the answer there would have been a Gigahoop sale in it for her. Wow. I'll agree with the Aussies, "what a drongo!" Find a new dealer, first order of business. Good luck with your gigahoop, you got a bunch of good answers here, I have the Janome 300E. Hugs, Marji

i see you have your answers which are correct maybe you should change dealers or at least inform them of your findings.
who ever they are..... "what a drongo!!! (australian slang for idiot) they should not be dealers."

That is so true. Someone should tell them, if the sell a product they should know a great about it.Pretty incompetent if you ask me.

The 350 and the 300e both will use the gigahoop, you need to be running "Customiser" as it has the Easygighoop" screen for editing.Make sure your machine software is up to date by logging on to Janome .com and downloading the updates for your machine. It will guide you through downloading them to your machine. These updates will fix any bugs and allow use of the giga hoop. Just remember that the hoop does half the design then you rotate the hoop and you do the other half. Cheers Ruth

You can also use Embird to combine the designs!

Lisa, I have a beautiful Janome 350e, and the good news is - 'yes' you can use the giga hoop. You'll need a program such as Janome Customiser to combine the designs together. When you save the combined design it saves it as 2 designs i.e. 1 & 2. Load the first one into your machine and stitch out. Remove hoop from machine, DO NOT undo fabric from hoop. Remove the hoop clip and attach to opposite end of the hoop. Reattach hoop to machine and stitch the second file. It's fun to use and gives you a larger stitching area. Hope this helps, if you need more help, just holler! Love and hugs sweetie, I've attached a link to a project that I did with the giga hoop.

I should have said in order to reattach the hoop, you need to turn the hoop 180deg, you'll see what I mean when you come to embroider with it.

Thanks where did you get your giga hoop. Is Janome customizer very expensive. I am excited now may have bigger embroidery area soon. Lisa

Lisa, I got Customiser free when I bought my 350e, I also bought my gigahoop at the same time and got a good deal on it. I don't think they were too expensive though - and you only have to buy them once! Love and hugs sweetie.
