what does NIX stand for? I could figure that is something very expensive. I'm sorry for you, Lillian! I hope you can get a new good machine with a reasonable price. A big hug for you, Yoriko

Well, then it is good you didn't buy it then. I know just what you mean - every time I go into the sewing center - they are trying to sell me one - but the strange thing is - they haven't even put it on display - it is still in the box - I wouldn't buy a machine without testing it out first - and they know I like that one - so they want me to buy it - because it is too big to display - lol.

I was very blessed to buy my Ellisimo when BL was offering 48 months no interest... or I wouldn't have been able to get mine. But truthfully, if I had an Elegante like what you have, I wouldn't have gotten the Ellisimo. :-) xoxo

Barb that's terrible, that's why I like my man so well. He he !! He drops everything he is doing when I go & starts work on mine. Of course I start minding the store while he does it. He sells fabrics of course so I just pitch in & start finding & cutting what customers want & taking their money. Answering questions when I can. I like doing that.

I was wondering how you were making out with that, Lilian. Not that it's not a nice machine, but I did think the price was steep for it being discontinued. Too bad, would have been nice to have another, we can never get enough machines, either, can we? Hee hee hee, maybe you'll stumble onto another better deal. Was it the embroidery or the sewing part that attracted you? Viking is a good machine, I almost got one, but the Janome dealer was closer, and a little more knowledgable. Good luck, hugs, Marji

It was the embroidery. I have an old Kenmore back up sewing machine that sews like a trooper while the Ellegante is embroidering. Had it many yrs & never had any problems with it.

Keep your eye out for a good deal on a Janome 300E or 350E. I have the 300, it's an embroidery only machine, but it's a workhorse. It has 4x4 & 5x7 fields, and will take the gigahoop, but you need software to split the designs. A lot of people start out with these because they're least expensive, then trade up. I wouldn't trade for anything! But I'd bet you could get one for much less than $1000, you might get a new one for almost that. Hugs, Marji
