I have the Embird SW & it will readjust the stitches when I resize so I have had no problems when resizing. the FSL *
I also have done the resizing and it turned out fine. But many people do not recommend it. My software adjusts the stitch count.
I know the design you mean, cant think of where it came from but it was also too big for my hoop. I just downsized it and it worked great for me. No problems. I have a singer Futura 250.

I hope it works for you. It is very pretty sewn out. It takes longer than most fsl. This may be your first fsl design but I know it wont be the last. Everyone who tries it falls in love with it. Good Luck!

Louise, do you have software that you can move designs around in your hoop? Sometimes something that won't fit straigt up and down will fit on a bit of an angle. If not, if it's not a really dense design, try reducing it the 10% in your machine. I know FSL is denser than regular embroidery, but some FSL is a lot denser than others. Do you have a picture, or can you direct us to the website with the design? If I had a look I could probably tell better. Otherwise, go ahead & play. If it's hard for the needle to get thru and doesn't look very nice, stop the machine and find a design that fits your hoop, that's about all you can do. Hugs, Marji
thanks to everyone that replied. I will try and get a picture of it. I can't remember where it came from but it was a freebe it is a heart shape with candycanes in the center also forming a heart. It is listed as a coaster. I tried moving around, but every time said to large for hoop. I will try again when i get home, I did start one of the angels of light as my first fsl project had to stop machine and go to work this morning.
Louise, I suppose you could try it - what do you hav to loose - thread and stabilizer? If it doesn't work - at least you know --- most FSL items are very difficult to change sizes and keep it in tack. Good luck - *4U
I have and the lace came out "okay"... some spots weren't as nice as others. Best idea is to just go and play Louise! :-) Have fun!
I do not recommend it, unless you have the original digitizing software and can take the design back to the BLF stage, which is the only safe place to resize such designs. But I must admit I have not tried it. You might try reducing once it is in your machine. With these designs it really might be a trial and error. Just my view. Shirlene is our FSL expert and she probably knows for sure.
