Are we talking about an embroidery acronym or the personal ads?

welcome to cute, I suppose you mean FSL, and the answer on that is given already. but if you do mean SLF, sorry I cann't help you with that one.
Travis, I am not sure what SLF means - but let us know what some of the others are - while we are trying to figure this one out - maybe we can assist you with the others, too. *4U
If you mean FSL, it stands for Free Standing Lace. You embroider it on wss (Water soluable stabilizer) which will dissolve in water after you finish, and the design will stick together all on it's own. The scan that I'm including took 45 minutes to stitch and more drying time. It should be rewet now and pinned to a mat to make it dry 'square'. It is in the 'filet crochet' style.
Some other designs are only lace, and will be embroidered on other fabrics.

My guess would have been Sewing, Love and Fun!!! But I was too slow to answer! You've got the right answer. Welcome to our world of Sewing, Love and Fun! Suzette
Did you mean FSL? if so it means Free Standing Lace. It gets embroidered on a wash away stabilizier. Once washed away it only leaves the embroidery (no material). Exampel
