You would change your stitch under preferences. The Wizard is ok for some stuff, but in most cases, is going to need some tweaking. Even tho you use the wizard, you can still change things. Here is a link to redwork tutorial that might help. On the left side of page under "archives", most months have tutorials, and I've learned alot by watching them. I like being able to watch the videos, and if you want, you can run the video, and have your 4D open and follow at the same time.
I have embird, and even if the clipart is ready for digitizing, I do manually.
Here's a good tutorial for RW digitizing, it's for embird, might be useful for other softwares...
I use Digitizer Pro, but what Martine said is true. Unless you are doing something very simple, auto-digitizing doesn't tend to work well. It's worth the extra effort to get a design you can be proud of, and that will work with minimum of fuss and jumps. Good luck, you'll really enjoy digitizing, I'm sure! Hugs, Marji
As a rule digitising automatically gives poor results, unless it's rather simple forms like squares and circles. I know it's a lot of work - it takes hours instead of minutes - but the result is so much better. (I've used Husq software since 1999 and am still using 3D Pro - did not want to upgrade again.) The only way to get perfect results is doing it manually, test stitch, make adjustments, test stitch again until you're satisfied.
Having said that there's an interesting tutorial at Clipartoplis on redwork designs in 4D, that does it automatically to start with and then edits every point that's out of line by hand. That might be somewhat faster than doing it manually from the start. Good luck and have fun.
