Oh Meganne, this is great news. Just keep on watching your head. The curls will arrive. Hugs
This is wonderful news. Thanks for sharing. As for keeping the bow in your hair--you might try Karo syrup like they do for babies with no hair. LOL.
You go girl - well done on all the hair coming back! My best friend's hair came back dark and curly after she finished her chemotherapy and radiation treatment!!!!
As the song says:
"Gimme a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair!
Shoulder length, longer (hair!)
Here baby, there mama, Everywhere daddy daddy
Hair! (hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair)
Flow it, Show it;
Long as God can grow it, My Hair!
I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy, shining
Gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted; Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled and spaghettied!
Oh! well you get my drift - HAIR it's great! Sorry about you having to shave again - I love my epilator too!
Love and blessings to you my friend Chris
That's great to hear....but now you'll have to start shaving and plucking again. But it's great to know that you are doing so much better.
I never did need to pluck much, I was lucky to be blessed with beautifully shaped eyebrows, though they could have been a bit wider toward the outside of my eyes. Now the eyelashes are a different matter, they've always been a bit on the short and mean side. LOL!!! So I'm praying my eyebrows return to what they were and I am endowed with beautiful long lashes, knowing my luck i'll probably get them the other way round. LOL!!!
hugs n roses, Meganne
Dear Meg,
I'm so happy for you!!! Gods work is amazing, making them grow when you are not having chemo! It's a wonderful news!!!
Well, I think you'll have to save those wigs for me :)
I'm losing all my hair, including eyebrows and eyelashes, no hair in my arms and legs already. Went to dermatologist, mostly stress...now, how to get rid of the stress when you have too much to deal with?
Love and many blessings to you my friend.
Yoriko
Oh Yoriko, I am sorry to read about this new problem. If it isn't one thing another pops its head up. You and me sound a good pair - I'm off to the Dermatologist on Wednesday - have been on Prednisone for a couple of weeks as I - at my age am getting Hives! Really bad on the torso and hands - I have to go off meds on Sunday so she can see how bad it is on Wednesday - I wouldn't be surprised if it is stress too! What a funny world we live in - I'll keep you in my prayers Yoriko! Love Chris
My Stress has been handled with EFEXOR,
I can highly recommend it, got me under control within about 8 weeks and I dread to think how bad I would have been going through the last 12 months without it.
You should both speak to your GPs about it. Hugs n roses, Meg
congrats on hair. Of course it's on your legs life has to hand you something of a pain LOL When my aunt finished her cemo she stopped getting hair under her arms and thought something was wrong made her worry about her head, I told her are you kidding me my mom doesn't get hair there either it's in your gene's LOL
Wouldn't that be wonderful, no hair under there?!!!
I'm really worried about that as the left side underarm is totally numb to touch (from lymph node removal) so I'm really worried about cutting myself as I can't feel anything. hugs n roses, M
you will have to go get it waxed instead good way of pampering yourself go to a spa make a day of it once a month and enjoy LOL
Meganne what great news and thanks for letting us share your milestones
Thanks Sweetie, I hope it helps others who may go through this, though I pray they are very few.
hugs n roses, M
That is wonderful. This is the best news I have heard all day today!!! Hugs Mary
Thanks Mary, I check my head every day just to monitor the progress but I found it amazing to see the hair growing back on my arms and the back of my fingers etc. My arms looked so pale and sickly without their soft downy coverage and now I can go out in the sun again too.
Hugs n roses, Meg
Well, then I'm happy for you! If you don't get enough, I could share.?.?
WooHoo back at ya! I'm so happy for you, and Thankful too! **
Thanks so much, losing my hair was the most devastating thing, I don't think i'll ever forget that night as the way it affected me came as such a shock, I thought I was prepared for it. I'll certainly take more care now, no more hair dyes for me. (well, maybe gentle ones, LOL!!!)
hugs n roses, M
Meg, I am so glad to hear that the hair are growing back, it is another step ahead for you. I wish for you a lovely mop of hair, and lovely long and thick eyelashes. At least we can do something to those leg hairs, although I think all of us could do with out those. LOL. Hugs and God bless.
Great news! Hope it only grows where you want it, but plucking and shaving must be a joy from now on - so much better than having no hair at all.
Are you back from your trip already?
Wouldn't it be nice if hair only grew where we wanted it to???
I'm truly grateful now, no matter where it grows, even my top lip. Heavens, did I really say that? LOL!!
Hugs n roses, M
NO, I'm still in Norway and have only limited internet time. Tomorrow evening we leave on the 9 pm ferry to Denmark, where we arrive at 6.30 am, then it's a 10 hour drive home. From Monday I'll be able to do some catching up.
Woohoo - such great news - sorry to hear that the auburn is gone - but rejoice in what is coming - now you will not have to color it blonde - He has lightened it for you. Hehehe!
Hair is good. This is wonderful news. Health and happiness to you. Hugs :o)
wow, that's great!!
let it grow, let it grow ,let it grow....
(and a little less on the legs)
God Bless You! So glad you're returning to health and hairiness, like some of the rest of us. Hoorah for Victory!
*4u!
Love,
Jacqueline
Meganne, You have gone through so many changes in your life and lifestyle in the last few years and it is just wonderful to see you excited over your hair growing back. We are all so happy that the Lord let you reach this point in your life! You have been a true example of bravery and a true believer in what prayer and the Lord can do! I am so proud of you and for you!!!! No one deserves to be happy any more than you. I have to smile when I see you so excited about what most people consider everyday things. Your happiness and excitement just flows over to all of us! We are truely happy for you! Hugs, Linda
Thank you Linda, there's been so much doom and gloom, I am seeing life through new eyes these days.
I have so much to be grateful for and so much to live for I want to go on appreciating the small things in life.
I play more with my dog and cats and ignore the housework if one of them is ready for a game. I sat outside in the sunshine today throwing the ball for my dog until she was exhausted, it was lovely.
It's Spring here and I'm noticing all the leaf buds on the deciduous trees and the flowers already blooming are so beautiful.
Remember to go outside and smell the roses, ignore the thorns.
hugs n roses, Meganne
Dear Meganne, you are a cancer survival, you are a champion, and your new hairs are here to testify that
Hugs from France Claude
Thank you Claude, makes me want to shout:
"Viva la hair!" LOL!
hugs n roses, Meganne
Meg - this is great. I have a friend that went through Chemo (ovarian cancer) and her hair came back curly. She called it the Chemo Curl, but now she doesn't have to spend money on perms. Special Hugs and Blessing to you, and your recovery.
I WISH!!!
I have lost my beautiful auburn hair, so far it is a smokey, silver grey with a whole lot of totally white patches and not a curl in sight. :-(
I could hope for it to go dark again in time, but at least now I don't have to worry about trying to hide my 'few' grey hairs. LOL!!!
hugs n roses, Meganne
How fantastic Meganne, another milestone to complete recovery! It is an answered prayer to hear your progress. Praise God!!!
You are an inspiration and blessing!!!
Congratulations!
love, judy
Thanks Judy, I am truly in awe of anyone who has survived cancer.
hugs n roses, M
Dust off the razor!!!! Great news.
Hugs back to you
Brenda
Ouch! One thing I hated doing but at least the Emjoi does it painlessly without the nicks. LOL!!
hugs n roses, Meganne
Megann being a newbie and u are the first one to private message me and explain cute a little more to me and i thank u for that i also learned u can click on a persons name and read all their posts and answers well i did this on u and u are a champion in my book i was 29 when i had ovarian cancer so i lost all my organs then and know what you are going through it took me about 2 years to get all my hair back congrats to you u are a star in my book
Tammy, as far as i am concerned anyone who has survived cancer is a true Champion. I see cancer survivors differently now that I am one of them and know what it has taken them to win their battles.
hugs n roses, Meganne
Hooray, Meganne!!! I guess I never thought about it, losing your hair, I mean. I know cancer patients lose head hair like you did, and that's so obvious, but never thought about body hair, too. That would be, like, totally bald!! Too bad you can't choose where to grow it back. I thought it was funny/ironic, the Google ads that show on the page that are tied to some word on the page, well the one at the bottom was for hair removal, hee hee hee. No, we want it back, not gone, hee hee hee!! Glad to see this new step on the road to complete health, my dear, dear friend. Love, Marji
I must agree Marji. All those wasted years of "emjoi-ing" my legs, looks like I'll have to start over from scratch. LOL!!!
hugs n roses, M
