but I guess it will have to stay idle a bit longer! Last Sunday night, three men from a local film company in our town stopped by and asked if they can use our house for thier next movie! They do Christian films...this one is called "Jerusalem"....it sounds like it's going to be quite exciting, to say the least! They were over again on Friday to see the house...they will shoot on the main floor, living area and bathroom, then use a bedroom upstairs along with a scene in my backyard. I believe the shooting will be the end of the month...could be some big names here, but will know later on that. We will have to leave for parts of it, they would put us up, but because of our cat, we will just choose to use Jim's mom's house when we have to get out. They will have one all-night shoot, which sounds VERY thrilling...lots of excitment and action...they jokingly asked if they could crash a helicopter into the house! YIKES! Glad they were kidding... They told me that they are "pushing" to get this one in the theaters...SOOOO...now, I have to focus on keeping my yard/flowers/outside stuff going and looking nice and CLEAN MY HOUSE! You can guess what I will be doing these next two weeks.......Will keep you posted, and will try to take some pictures during the filming and post for you to all see!

Here's a link to the production company....second link to the blog of the director who directed "What If?" this summer, here in town. One scene, the school scene with Debby Ryan, will have my 12 yr old niece walking down the steps. This director is currently in town, making another film. My same niece, her sister and thier mom will be extras in a scene they are shooting in a week...

Who would have thought they use actual houses, not I! I somehow always assumed they were all sets in Hollywood! This is going to be exciting to follow! I say congratulations and blessings. Oh and in case they really weren't kidding about the helicopter, I would ensure the contract says the house will be in the same or better condition when they finish!! Blessings and have fun, this sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity!

This same film co, did a movie this summer, called "What If?". They used another home in town...painted the complete inside, took down a bunch of pine trees and re-sodded the front yard. The movie looks quite good...if you google What If, you will find some info and the celeb's that were here for that one! They tell me exactly what you said...the place should be left in the same of better! (don't know yet, though...if I will get a paint job or not!_

That sounds exciting, but a bit crazy. I'm not so sure I would be able to give up my ome and privacy to a film crew. More power to you!! I Hope you get your home back and some Relaxation, very soon.

Yes...I feel like I am GOING CRAZY!! Still a couple weeks out yet...but trying to get it looking good for the film crew. We have one room that we are going to lock down with a few personal items. I was told by the gentleman in the last home they used, to make sure you set up in advance, your conditions.

Yep...I clean everyone else's houses...but mine has to wait until a film crew wants to use it before it REALLY gets a good clean!

Kim - how exciting - you will have to take pictures once you get things cleaned up - as you say - then while they are filming and then when they leave - just so we know - what sort of things they do to your place - while filming - can't wait to find out the whose who? Lucky you. I do hope they are paying you for the use of the place, as well. *4U

They told me a few names of actors/actresses that they are thinking about...but they won't be sure till it gets closer to the filming. AFter talking with them on Friday, it didn't sound like they were planning on doing too much...my yard is in tip-top shape already, but I still think there might be a chance for an inside paint job...hoping, anyways! Also, because I have another place to use, and because of the cat issue, we don't want a hotel...so I just point blank asked what they were going to pay us! I will know this week...he said it would'nt be thousands and thousands...I'm just hoping to have a "latte-a-day", on them, for this upcoming winter!! So...I'm really just asking for coffee money! he he

Oh, my word, how lucky can you get!!! Where are you, and what does your house look like that a film crew would want to use it as a location? Must be some cool old Victorian or something, wow. And what a perfect excuse to clean the house, hee hee hee, I usually just book a Tupperware party, hee hee hee. I am so excited for you, how thrilling will that be, to have your house be a "movie star"! I hope it doesn't get a swelled head, er, attic I guess that would be, hee hee hee. Super wonderful, do keep us informed!!! Hugs, Marji

We are in western Michigan. They were scouting for a "Chicago Suburbs" look, and our street offered the look...and then they picked our house. It's exciting to be choosen, but will be a totally new experience for us and will be a day-to-day adventure while they are here!
