Linda, Congratulations on your big milestone. *4U
you go for it girl: for the flowers, tomatoes and the chocolate!
Here is another flower for you. I have grown my flowers here to 21029 and I can hardly believe it. I grow tomato, cucumbers, peppers in the house along my big window. Hubby is building me a greenhouse on the deck so I can get them out of the house. He wants his windows back,,,,,,,,,we live on the Kenai River in Alaska.
I guess you would have to alot of indoor growing! It gets pretty darn cold when you have to keep a heater on your car engines in the coldest part of the year. I worked with a guy for alot of years whos wife was raised in Alaska. I think she kinda liked it down south!
Another one flower for you Linda !!!
How pretty, Sissi! I wish I could grow roses but never had any luck with those. This is one of the nicest places I have been in a long time. Most of the groups are just not this friendly.
So Linda, are you saying that you shouldn't plant your plants, just go straight to the burial????
<snicker>
I am glad your thumb is so "Cute"! Oh this is getting "corny", I better go!
Blessings!!
This sounds strange but I think you got the right idea! It is a waste of time and money for me to bury something in the ground and think it is going to grow. It does not matter if I start with seeds or plants, it is the same old story. Tomatoes are the only thing I have ever had any luck with.
Congrats on your bouquet, Linda!! Here's another one to add to it, I'm so glad it made you smile today, what a nice surprise for you! Hugs, Marji
I added one to your colection and thanks for helping this group be such a great one!
I'm not much of a gardner. I always joke that I have a brown thumb, now if it only grew chocolate. LOL
Congratuations on your growing bouquet. *4U
YOU really have the right idea! I am not as bad with the chocolate now as I used to be. There was a time, if you saw me you saw a cup of coffee or something chocolate. I have really cut back on the caffine. It does not wire me though. I can go to sleep with a cup of coffee in my hand.
Sending you chocolate kisses and a bowl of lovely fresh tomatoes, I hope your next crop will be as delicious as these look.
hugs n roses, M
Thanks Meganne! I fixed a big pressure cooker full of vegetable soup today and carried my neighborand friend some of it. She has been sick and I knew she did not feel like cooking. It was loaded down with tomatoes, corn, okra, butterbeans, onions, potatoes, carrots and celery along with the beef. I will freeze part of it in small freezer containers so we will have have it when we want it for a little while. These tomatoes sure would be good in a tossed salad. You really got elegant with the chocolate. All this chocolate and the only thing in the house chocolate is peanut butter bars covered in chocolate. I think it is time to go shopping. Meg, this is a great group/family and your good news had really made me happy! All I want to hear from you from now on is nothing but great reports! You are headed in the right direction and I pray with all my heart that you have seen all the bad and nothing but good lies ahead for you! Your good news is good news for all of us! You have been a rock for all of us and you were the one that was sick. You are a very strong willed person. May the Lord bless you each and every day from this day forward! Huggs! Linda
Congratulations! I can grow a lot of flowers in South Africa, and tried tomatoes here in Botswana, but it is just too hot here - up to 41.5 degrees Celsius in summer. And although this is suppose to be spring, it is 17:34 now and still 33 degrees at the moment.
I once grew beefsteak tomatoes beside my front steps in Georgia until the middle of December. It was regular winter weather and all the neighbors were amazed! The steps were keeping the cold off of them and the morning son was shing good and bright on them until just after lunch everyday. The weather was not below freezing but it was cold! It was just a fluke but they were real good when no one else had freash tomatoes. I would cover them with a sheet late in the evening and uncover them in the morning. They did not have any hard spots in them either. Oops, then came the snow and below freezing temps. and they were gone. Good while it lasted! Elephant ears are the only plants that I can get to really grow and as soon as they got beautiful, someone told me they were poisionous to my dogs and up they came and off to the dump! I can kill a house plant faster than anyone I know! I can't even keep an aloe plant alive. DUH
