He is feeling much better, however, he still has diahrea which they said could last for 2 weeks (what the H__) wouldn't you think that would make him dehydrated again??? I don't understand.
Fever is gone...jaundice is gone...not throwing up... (sounds like the flu, right, well doctors didn't think so..)
They gave him glucose with potassium (as it was also low)...then they gave him 1/3 liter of blood to boost his red blood cells.
The doctors said his red blood cells count was 4 (should have been 13-16 for his age group) they were very concerned of why his cells were breaking down... and his spleen was enlarged.
The doctors have ruled out a lot of diseases that it isn't...but can't put their finger on what it was.
My daughter has to take him on Monday and Thursday for more blood work. (and then they will probably say 'We're not sure what is was')
UGH...just upsetting!!!
Hopefully God will give them the knowledge to discover what the cause was.
He is home...and I'm thankful for that!

10191I'm glad he is feeling better! I know how frustrating it is to have something make a loved one very ill, and have no explanation for it. I hope that this is a one time occurance, and that in time, it won't matter what caused it...as long as he is better and it doesn't happen again!

145791deer linda all i can say is just have faith that they will find a answer as it is very hard to deal with the unknown as we are dealing with that right now and all the prayers from this site i do belive have been helping because my docter called and gave use postive information on my daughters case and it sure did look bleak for a while but we are holding in there with lots of hope and prayers and i will do the same for your family that a answer comes soon to ease the worry and uncertinty of it all thats the hardest part i pray you have a answer soon then you can deal with it and get on with life good luck and god bless you have my prayers mary
