Shirlen, Thank you for sharing this wonderful site. I sing in our church choir and this is one of my favorites. We have come a long way from the slave days or have we? If more young men and women of our world could see God in the eyes of their neighbor, what a world this would be. We would not need to send our loved ones to war. There would be PEACE!
Thanks

WOW! This song just speaks volumes, doesn't it! Saw the movie a couple of years ago about William Wilberforce and John Newton. What a change in John's life came when he realised what he had done to all the slaves he treated so badly. Our Father in heaven changed this man's life completely around.

I had the priviledge of singing this hymn in the beautiful Anglican church in Norfolk Island at Christmas time 2008. We had gone on a tour with our best friends and just happened to pop into the church with our group of Aussies. The organist was there practising and just happened to ask if anyone would like to sing - and me being the quite unassuming person that I am volunteered to do it. Well, it was just wonderful. The church has been there since the Mutiny on the Bounty families built it. It was an awesome moment. It still brings chills to me whenever I hear it. Wintley's version was just beautiful on that video.

Thanks Shirlene for sharing it with us. What a powerful message - I wish all people could hear it!

We are all part of this wonderful world - black, white, yellow, red etc. etc. it doesn't matter what colour our skin is - we are all human beings made in the image of God.

God bless you for sharing - love and blessings Chris

Chris, how wonderful for you to have gotten to sing it in that old church - that is a great story - hope you pass this clip along, too. *4U
