A day ago I was trying to get into bed with my GD in arms and miss judged and down we went. Was grateful GD was not hurt.

Was quite a shock. I was home alone with both small GD's at 11 pm.. Had to ring friends to help out. DH and daughter were out of town....because we are in the country hospitals are a fair way away...went to hospital only to find out Dr was not reachable, came home and went back 6am, still not Dr so was told to go onto next hospital. 8-9 hours later I finially got it stitched back on... 9 stitches...I only hope it will heal okay, Dr said it would so lets hope he is correct...
For a while I thought I would have to have it cut off....WoW
Also have a nice bruized elbow/arm. You know if only I had the light on this would not have happened...Won't do that again.

Well I've had the stitches out and is healing nicely except for a tiny area behind the ear lobe...must have stayed a bit wet when I showered....
My arm is healing also...not as sore anyway.
Thanks all for your concern recently.

Sounds like you had an exciting night! I too am glad the grand daughter was not hurt but it does sound like you had a nasty spill. With my arthritis and 2 little Pekingese running around my feet I have to be very careful. I never turn off all the lights. If I were to fall, I would not be able to get up by myself. My arthritis is worse in my knees than anywhere else! I am glad to hear that you are not in much pain and that the Dr. could save your ear. Just remember that injuries can be alot more expensive than a light on in the house! I always wear my cell phone around my neck when I am alone. I don't know that it would do me any good because everytime I need my son for something is when he does not answer his! At least I have not had an emergency! If he is busy, he will not answer his phone. I finally gave a neighbor a key to my house. She could not do much to help me but she could get me some help! She does not even have a car or a license but she does drive sometimes. I have seen her drive her daughter's car. I am not but 3 minutes from the hospital.
An accident like you had is kinda scary! I sure do hope it heals clean so it won't be noticable. You take care of yourself! Hugs, Linda

Linda, not having the light on was just a silly thing to do for me, it was not about saving money, our electricity bill for the last 3 months was just over $900 that was in winter with 3 heaters going all night mostly, so we try to live comforabley most of the time. I don't even know why I did not put the light on, usually I put the next room light on to see, I already had one GD asleep in the main bed where this all happened..
Anyway it funny you say about ringing people when you need them, when I want my DH the most he also misses the call...Crazy that....You take care of you to ok....Love Kerry

Oh dear Kerry, how awful for you, so pleased you didn't have to have it removed. A friend of ours had to have most of his earlobe removed, and he laughingly tells people that - he met a man who said 'Friends, Romans and countrymen lend me your ears', so he lent him one of his, and the man never gave it back!!! People never know what to say after that, haha! Hope your healing process goes smoothly and quickly. Love and hugs to you sweet Kerry.

Well, my word, Kerrie!! I'm so very sorry you hurt yourself, but very glad the little one is ok! I know we're trying to conserve electricity, but really, I think you ought to have turned on the light. Or move closer to a hospital. I thought I lived far from one, 25 miles, but at least there are doctors there. Don't know what they do, since you have to wait for hours even if nobody is there, but what the heck. I wonder if that's why we have the zig-zag stitch on our sewing machines? Well, maybe a stretch zig-zag would work better, teach DH for next time this happens. Hee hee hee, I do hope you're feeling much better by now! Hugs, Marji

Kerrie I too had a rrun in with plastic containers. I had a seasure in my sewing room in Colorado adn as i fell I hit the corner of a plastic drawer storage container with my face. I ended up calling 911 and in the hospital for 4 days. I recieved about 20 stitches some inside the wound and others out put in by a plastic surgen. My DH said my sewing room looked like the site of a bloody murder. It took him 3 hours to clean it up. Good thing we had hard wood floors and not carpet. Between the two of us maybe we will all learn to be careful with this handy plastic containers. Hope you heal as well as I did. Most people never even notice my scar.

Oh Wow, your dear Love. Plastic stuff is sure a nuisance then...My daughter will at least put them away now. Fancy 4 days in hospital. Glad you healed well. They say head wounds do heal pretty well...So I am hoping I do to....

Thank God the GD is okay. Sure hope you heal quickly. We never know what little things may 'trip us up' - no pun intended here. And to think, because I have glaucoma, I quite frequently practice navigating around my house in the dark . . . just in case. Maybe it is time I had a dog trained.

Thankfully you will heal quickly and completely.

Funny you say that, I often used to think 'oh if I go blind, I'll at least know my way around in my own home', well this has blown that theory out the window... Thanks for your well wishes.

Oh Mercy! Kerrie, so grateful it wasn't worse. May your ear, arm and elbow heal quickly! Who would have thought there would be no doctor at a hospital! That is scarey!
Blessings!

Dear Kerrie, I hope that everything is healing well now. What a story to tell eh? You've learned your lesson by the sound of things. Lightbulbs are a wonderful invention aren't they? I tend to not put them on too, so I can empathise with you. I hope your bruised arm and elbow heals quickly. You need it for sewing all those lovely embroideries!!

Love and blessings Chris
