Probably a program you installed took over - for example if you installed Embird - it may make the icons for your embroidery files look like one thing and then if you installed another embroidery software, since this would be the newest - it would take over the existing embroidery files and change your icons to it's prefered icon design.
If you want to change them back, go to your original embroidery software and look in Help section for "File Association" this will tell you how to associate your embroidery files with this program -- follow directions and you will have your old icons back! Or do a search on Google for File Association with the program you want to use - to see if there is explanation to help you!
brand new computer cause the other copped out on me....still can figure this one out though...
Good luck with Vista! And here's a flower for you, and sympathy. Hugs, Marji
I don't know about the Guru part, but I do have a star for my pes, a green triangle for vip, and a butterfly for hus to make life easier. Here goes:
Start
Control Panel
Appearances and Themes
Folder Options
File Types----pick yours from the list--if not there yet, click on NEW and add it and click OK
Advanced
Change Icon-----Pick one----Click OK
I'm working with XP, don't know but can't imagine that Vista would be far off of that. Hope this works for you, I just walked myself through it to write down the steps.
Jo
I do not have appearance and themes....I did on my old laptop, but they are not doing xp anymore and are only doing Vista not soon to be different in October??? I will see if I can save and post my control panel for you...
You can also reach "Folder Options" by opening Windows Explorer.
On the menu bar select Tools\Folder Options
A Message box will open, select the tab "File Types" then follow Jo's directions.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Thanks Meganne, I tried on the computer at work, which is Vista, and could not find file types. I will look tomorrow so I know. Jo
Deanna, it more than likely has something to do with your Program that you have for reading your designs - or editing them. Have you loaded that Program, yet?
