My MIL did a lot of canning, freezing, etc, and she and FIL raised animals and froze the meat.

It is so nice to know there are people like you still around. My daughter(the oldest) does a lot of canning & freezing & making jams, jellies & pickles. That's how it was when I grew up. the men hunted & fished, grand dad farmed & the women worked in the home. Families were so much closer in those days. You, are tops in my book *
i to grew up that way and for me i am very old school thinking i love to cook and clean and put wood in in the fall and do all the (WOMEN THINGS) and my husband loves to hunt and fish and bring home all the meat and with what we raise wo do well for the winter and belive me winters here are very hard and it all helps i can all the pickles,jams jellies and where my hubby is a truck driver and we get a lot of fresh veggies free like to night he brought home a case of bannanas and two chases of brockllie and i got a case of butter cup squash i will have this all done by put up by sunday and i also grew my owen tomatoes and stewed some and did juice with some it gives me great pleasure to feed my family wholesom foods and my hubby loves it as do our friends and family that stop over to eat any body is welcome at any time in our house if you lived closer i would have you over for dinner and a nice pie for dessert thank you it makes me fill good to know that there is a few women that still belives in the old way
Mary, this is so cool. I, too, come from a family that loved to hunt although they don't do it much any more. That is a big Moose, but I sure small for ones you have seen... Have a happy day and good eating. Libbie
FOR US LIBBIE IT IS VERY NICE TO KNOW WE CAN STILL LIVE OFF THE LAND THAT GOD CREATED FOR US I LIKE TO KNOW WHERE MY FOOD COMES FROM THAT I AM FEEDING MY FAMILY I DO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO CAN ALL OUR VEGGIES AND TO RAISE AS MUCH MEAT AS POSSIBLE AND DO AS MUCH HOME COOKING AS POSSIBLE IT SURE GIVES ME A LOT OF PRIDE TO DO THIS FOR MY FAMILY THANK YOU MARY
