Hi, Dorie, Welcome to the Cute Community!! I'm glad the girls set you on the right path. If you're new to machine embroidery, there's some really important things you need to know about copyright, to protect yourself and others. Whenever you go to any site, there will be a button or link called something like 'terms and conditions' or 'copyright', please do yourself a favor and read every one of those. Some designers will only allow you to use free designs for personal use and not for items you're going to sell. Each designer can dictate the way their designs are used, and you can truly be sued for not using them according to the rules. Don't ever get the idea that "licensed" designs, like Disney, NFL, NASCAR, Looney Tunes, etc. are legal if they're free, because they're not. Very few people can afford to buy the license to digitize them. Anybody can digitize from a comic book, but that doesn't make it legal, and Disney especially is a real bear when it comes to their characters being illegally used.

About this forum, I think maybe some of the posts you were reading that led you to believe there was 'sharing' going on were people posting about Designs by Cuties. That's a section here at Cute where digitizers can post designs they have digitized themselves to 'share' with the Cuties. That is perfectly ok, since they are the digitizer and can do what they want with their designs. Veronika, the website owner, can give us any free designs she wants, too. But, we can't give them to each other, even if they were free on the site.

Alphabets: if you want the whole set, you really need to be diligent and come get them. There are gals here who have been in hospital, or hubbies have had operations, and have missed letters, and we can't even share with them. So sorry you forgot, but it's kind of your job to remember if you want them. The cuties can get together and vote for missed letters, or any other designs on Cute that can be voted on, and usually we win when we do it as a team. BUT, alphabets are becoming a problem. There is not enough time between the end of one and the beginning of another to 'catch up' for everybody who missed letters, and Letvia has an incredibly long list from 6 alphabets back. It used to be that we could get Cuties caught up, but that's just not happening any more. We can always try, but don't count on it. If you miss letters, you can purchase them for $1 each. Even better is the membership, then you don't miss anything ever for 6 months. That's a 'satisfied customer' speaking, I don't have anything to do with the site but being a member and part of the forum.

I thought that is how this forum worked but thought by reading some of the posts that is what people were doing. Thanks for setting me straight sure don't want to do anything I am not suppose to.

I am sorry you missed them. It's illegal for us to share letters or designs. At the bottom of the page under "terms and conditions" you can get more information on that subject. To get your letters we could vote for them at the end of the alphabet. Post it under Voting requests or send Letvia a PM.
