I can't answer question #1, as I don't know that machine.
#2: in resizing there are 2 possibilities, keeping the density equal or the amount of stitches. Your machine and some programs use the latter system, which is no good with designs that are dense to start with. The first method is what you're looking for. Even a free program like Wilcom TrueSizer uses that method. Just look if the stitch count changes when you resize - it should.
#3. The manual gives a rather general indication. The manual for my 190D says 80, even indicates a general purpose needle, not an embroidery one, which I find causes shreading. I use a 70 for fine fabric and a 90 or 10 for denim.
Congratulations on the 770!
Thanks, this helps.I will be getting the Wilcom and wondered if I resized a dense pattern to a larger size if it would change the design density. I will try a larger needle as you and "ksieminskie" mentioned. I am a little wary of finishing my almost ruined pattern...I really don't want to mess up my "little" machine before I get the new one!! Haha! Thanks again.
Congratulations on getting a new machine. What a nice DH. He is a keeper.
I have a PE 150 when sewing ME on some dense design and fabric I have the same problem and I use a jean needle also if you reduce the design on some program like basic it may make the design to dense in some area to ME properly. I have a new PE780D it is a lot like PE 770 will it have a usb port or a computer link if it has the usb port let me know and I will help you it it simple but there was a step missing in the instruction the support team didn't know how to help me but I got it after a 2 week of trying I love my new machine it doesn't act like it going to fly apart while it is working
