God Bless you, post a sign that says MOM"S Sewing and Craft Room, hang girlie stuff on the windows and walls and put lace on the bed then they might get the hint. It is not funny your hubby was nice enough to do this maybe he can tell everyone to stay out. I understand> it is not funny to sit on the bathroom floor. before we moved if I wanted to sew I had to do it before the kids went to be, because my machine was in the dining room and their bedrooms were to close for the noise and thus I could only sew sometimes on the weekend, so therefore the creative juices got lost thru the week. God Bless you.
Well, after I had to giggle at you, I do feel sorry for you too! Maybe you need to sit the "boys" down & explain that is a sewing room FIRST and a computer room SECOND! You're willing to share, but if you want to sew when they are using the room, they either move it over, put on a sleep mask & ear plugs if they are sleeping or move out of the room! Good luck!
What a picture :) Definitely brought a smile...Now to get down to business - Go to the local hardware store and buy a doorhandle with a lock (key), replace old knob with new, keep locked when not at home. Make sure you keep the key hidden or with you. I need to do that with my quilting/sewing room or else it's not my room. It might sound harsh, but girl you need some ME space as do all of us. We love our families but in order to keep functioning in todays world we also need our own downtime....sounds like you'll be sewing in no time.
I think we all love that bathroom, it is the only place to find peace. Tell us as soon as you have found a way to win your sewing room back, I would also like to know how you did it.
Hugs and God bless.

Deanna, it is sure better than being alone all the time! I find myself talking to my 2 girls (pekingese) like they are human most of the time. Funny thing is, I really think they understand me. I only have a short time left with my Bebe and I take every minute I can to love her and let her her know what a wonderful little girl she is. If she makes it until Dec. 23rd she will be 14. She has had cancer for 4 years now. She does not show that she is in pain but she is going downhill very fast. The last couple of months I have had to just about hand feed her or give her human food which is not good for her. She will no longer eat her dog food. We sure have been through alot of chicken breast cooked every way I can think of to keep her eating. At one point she gained back a good bit of her weight but I am gradually seeing her lose it again and she sleeps alot. I can stand and look at her and tears will flow down my face. She has always been such a gentle loving little soul. I have had her since her birth and she was very preemie. The litter had to fed with an eyedropper to help their Mommy for several weeks. The Vet told me that they would not make it. I kept 3 of them and my best friend got the other. She was the only little girl and is the only one left.
I would give anything if I had a houseful running around all the time. I only had 1 sone and he has step daughters (grown) and there are 3 great grand children but they have their own 2 grannies and great grannies that are real family so I do not get included very often. My son has only been married 1 yr and 2 months so I do not get to see them very often. His wife has him very hen-pecked. Everything is about her and her family. He did not find the right "one" until he was 41 so he is making up for all lost time. Enjoy all the chaos while you can. The quiet and solitude makes you old! Of course, if you did not enjoy all the craziness, you would not be doing the wonderful things you do to help these misplaced children. For that, I admire you more than you can ever know. You are a walking, talking, caring, angel right here on earth to those that you have taken into your home and given love and understanding! Thank you so much for caring enough to give a part of yourself to save these children/young adults! Linda
Deanna, I am glad to see you have a sense of humor about your situation. I remember when all my kids lived at home, many a time, the bathroom was the only place for privacy and then I had to lock the door!! LOL. I used to go and sit on the floor so I could study. At the time I was taking some college courses. Now you have to figure a way to take back control of your sewing room!! I wish you luck with that. Hugs Mary
Oh my goodnesss - you paint a very funny picture. I feel awful for you - but it is funny. You will have to put your foot down and take back your space. *4U
Ha, Ha. I can just picture this. Was there no toilet seat you could sit on. The floor is awfully hard. I probably would have never been able to get up from it. I hope tomorrow will work out better.
I just couldn't find sit myself to sit on the toilet and talk to you guys......
Deanna the time has come for u to b assertive & claim your rights. I've been in the bathrm floor with a laptop on vacation trips & know how uncomfortable it is. You simply must have a little space for yourself. Maybe if you set specific times. Only u know what is best for you. *4U
well that would be just grand except the only daylight time I have, my hubby has me doing one hundred and more things before I go to work...Oh I am not complaining...I probably wouldn't change a thing if I could.....Have a grand day Lillian...
Yes hihi, I can just see you sitting there. Good job you have a good sense of humour lol.
Enjoy the family they grow up only too quickly
Hugs Edith
you know, in my household, humor is a necessity...there is always things coming and going, messes to clean up, people invading your home and a wild bunch of indians to chase.....Have a wonderful day Edith....
Poor Deanna.... it's a funny situation ! sorry, I'm not laughing but I imagine the photo....
Hugs to you
oh thanks.....I finally got up off the floor and couldn't move, my behind was so cold and numb......
Oh you poor love, yep something definiately is wrong with this picture....I guess only you can change it huh?
well I sure can't kick them out of my sewing room in the middle of the night...guess he will just have to make me another room for myself...hehehe
I cann't see your picture (yet) hope you can have a nice place to embroider.
I meant the "picture" as a paraphrase...It was for you to vision me siting next to the shower stall in the bathroom on the floor typing away cause it is tghe only room nobody is sleeping in...
