The vintage designs are really nice, Sew Weird has alot of them also emblibrary.
I love heirloom decorations on my pillowcases. Very dainty and pretty like you see on The Needle of Anne. (link below)
Do you have a group name? You could put that on it.
Or how about, "I'm still sewing in my sleep!" I fix some of the worst sewing problems when I'm about to fall asleep LOL.
First, condolances on the job loss, the economy is tough all over the world, I guess. Darn, hope something comes your way soon, but not too soon so you can have fun sewing in the meantime.
Pillowcase: very bad Marji had a thought, but probably more a gift for hubby for Christmas. Embroider on a pillowcase one side, a happy Santa face, and "cookies and milk", on the other side a not-so-happy Santa, and "lump of coal", hee hee hee. Just so hubby knows where he stands every night during the Christmas season, hee hee hee. For the group gift, I don't know. Is it a 'secret santa' exchange, where you know who you're giving it to, but they won't know who it's from till they get it? Or is it totally random, like you don't know who you'd be making it for at all, and it has to have general appeal to anyone. Just asking so I have time to tread water and think before you answer, hee hee hee. Maybe inspiration will hit by the time you get back. Hugs, Marji
Enlighten me - what is a Christmas Break-Up?
We have a Christmas Party and exchange gifts. It is the end of the sewing year and we don't start up again until school starts in february. Hope this makes sense.
What we don't learn on this site! I never thought about it, but with the seasons being reversed in the southern hemisphere, I guess your "summer vacation" would be after Christmas! Boy, I think I'd always be on the wrong foot if I moved there from the US, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji
