Here is some good news - my DD Sheila went to work this morning - the bad news is - while the youngest grand was visiting with her mother (my DD is the step-mother) her older sister in that family came down with the swine flu - now we have will be worried about the youngest grand (Katie) for a couple days - so if you can keep Katie in your prayers for a day or two - I would appreciate it? But all is well with the two that had it and they are trying to get back into a healthy life style - as they had before. My DD must have comepletly sanitized her whole house yesterday - making sure none of the virus was left in the house - she is a clean freak - but didn't know it was this bad - Hehehe!
Thanks for the update. I was wondering how everybody was. I don't think about going back to the original post.
Hope everything goes "well" for whole family, if they're at home, rest and a lot of drinks. And take care about you.
shirlene, did not read this before .so sorry for this late reaction.of course you are worried. we'll be praying for recovery!hope they feel and are better soon. hugs 4u.
Hi Cute Buddy, I just saw this. Sure hope your loved ones are better now. Be assured of my prayers on their behalf. I have a dear friend who is seven months pregnant and has it. So does her three year old son and hubby. It's hard to believe that such a shortage of medication was allowed to happen in our country. Scary for sure. And to all of our CUTE buddies, please take very good care of yourselves. ***
My SIL works for the VA..they got a e-mail saying EVERYONE who works for the VA will be getting a flu shot...then last week another note was sent out saying ONLY ER Dr.'s and Nurses will!! Supply and Demand!!! I just hope I am one of the lucky ones that doesn't get it! I hope your family is recouperating:)
I can understand that you are worried. The worse thing is that you can't do anything. Take care. Hugs
Shirlene, Its a nasty virus. My daughter had it, she just drunk heaps and slept as much as she could, it took about three weeks to get over it, then the same again to actually feel like doing normal things. Hope they gets better soon.
O my dear Shirlene, I pray that all goes well for your family. I know it must be really tough to sit back and see you daughter so ill. Our beloved Lord will hear our prayers and our faith can pull your daughter through. You take care and a huge hug to you from me. *4U CindyB.
Sorry to hear tell them to rest and drink, drink, drink.
Hopefully they will be better soon.
So sorry shirlene I think a lot of people have it & don't realize it. I know back a little over a month ago when I was so sick that is what I had. It was different from anything I have ever had & believe me I have had my share of flu germs over the yrs. as well as viruses. Be sure they drink lots of fluids & please, please don't u get it. *
Oh, Shirlene, we will all pray that both come out of this healthy. This is a little scarey. Nicole was dianosed with this last summer when she went to church camp, and was sent home, along with 75 other kids. She was given the tamaflu. They are saying that the H1N1 hits the younger population harder than adults. But, it is hard to see a daughter so sick, and not be able to do anything. Special hugs to you. We know that you are worried.
Shirlene,Praying that your family will be well soon. Take care and keep us posted on their progress. Hugs Lynn *4U
Will be praying for the whole family! If your daughter is getting worse, PLEASE plead with her to call the doctor back & tell him. Let him know it is settling in her chest. The flu weakens your resistance to other things & many are getting bacterial pneumonia on the tail end of the flu! Doesn't sound like she's fighting it off as well as the doctor thought she would! Please keep us informed.
I'm so sorry your daughter and GD are going thru this. I will pray for their quick recovery. I'm afraid it's going to be a rough winter. I was just at the Dr. yesterday having my cholesterol checked and I asked about the flu shots. The Dr told me to try and find a clinic! He has NO vaccine. Not for H1N1 or the regular flu shot. He also told me I wouldn't qualify for the H1N1 because you have to be under 24yrs of age or have an existing medical condition that qualifies. I think I'm just gonna stay home all winter with my doors and windows locked up tight and make my DH sanitize himself in the garage when he gets home from work!!
I am surprised your daughter could not get the tami flu, that is very bad. Anyone who gets it in the UK gets it.
My husband had it a few months ago and tamiflu helped a lot. See your grand daughter is a lot better thank goodness and hope your daughter will feel a lot better soon.
It is a worrying illness.
hugs
Edith
The vaccine has only just been approved here in Quebec and they will be starting next week with those that are most at risk...do hope things go well for your family Shirlene, and note that Rikki is at least feeling well enough to be back to school...hopefully Sheila will be on the mend soon...take care of yourself...hugs Glenda x0x0x0
Update here: Rikki is doing very well - she is back to school with no complications - the tamaflu worked wonders for her. Sheila is a bit worse today - it is settling in her lungs - but in the meantime - she said to thank you all for your prayers and she is amazed that I have so many wonderful friends from around the world that would take time to say a prayer for her. THANKS!
I hope they'll recover quickly. I can understand your worries! Here Tamaflu is given only to high risk groups: young children; over 65s; people suffering from asthma, chronic bronchitis, and so on; and pregnant women, although some say the risk for the foetus is higher with than without the stuff. Prayers and hugs, Martine
Martine, thanks - I guess that must be the case here, too. My grand Rikki - went back to school - my daughter Sheila is a bit worse today, but I told her - we have prayers from around the world and that made her smile. *4U
I am already praying for them. May the Lord give them speedy recovery. Please check your PM's. Keep us posted please. How did they diagnose them? Did they test them?
Shirlene. I am praying for your families speedy recovery and sending you hugs. Keep us posted
Hope all goes well for your family shirlene, don't they say the deaths are mainly because of an under lying illness not so much the flu...so if your daughter is healthy I pray she will get through this fine...
Keep us posted on progress, hugs and cuddles kerry
Your daughter and grand daughter will be in my prayers. I understand that some go through this with just minor illness and then some not so easy. My little cousin had it and after a couple of days was up and playing although he was not 100%. They even let Little Trevor get out and go across the road(country) to carry his granny something just so he could see her. Little fellow went to the door and handed it to Granny but could not go in the house. Granny is 76/77 not sure which. I was talking to her on the phone when Trevor came to the door. I sure do hope that it does not get any worse in your family than it did in ours. May God bless all of you! Linda
I am sooo sorry Shirlene....I don't know much about it...It is around our area also and spreading faster....I will most definitely have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers....Remember everything is in GODS hands and he will decide on everything.....
Shirlene, I am so sorry to hear of this. This flu is really spreading fast. Here in PA I heard of one school district shutting down completely due to it. It is very wide spread in our area as well. I hope yoour daghter and grand daughter recover quickly and have no complications with it. I am adding your family to my prayer list. Hugs Mary
Dear Shirlene, I'm so sorry to hear this. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. Love,Yoriko
Hi Shirlene, hope the Swine flu flies by quickly. It's not nice being sick. I hope your daughter heals quickly, because who mothers the mother when she gets sick?
Love and prayers for you all love Chris
Chris, in our state there have been reported 6 new deaths in the last week - so I am a bit worried. Thanks for your prayers.
Shirlen, so sorry to hear your news, remember that so many have gotten through it all without complications so just hope for the best.
Shirlene, so sorry to hear about having the H1N1 in your family. I hope that there will be no complications for all of you. We go to the doctor next week to get injections for the flu
Here in Houston if one person is sick the whole family have to go on the medications, don't worry too much, my grandkids had it and they were pretty down for about 5 days and it was mostly side effects of the medicine and fever.I took care of them but I did not take any medicine, it was about a month ago. They are already running short on the inmunizacions I think is good to get it early, later on they will run out of everything...they will soon be fine.
Thanks Maria, the immunizations run out - last week - none of us fit the catergory to get it. *4U
That is some nasty stuff. It is going around my daughter's high school. I will pray that they are feeling better soon and that there are no complications.
Hope all goes well with your family. I don't think there will be enough shots for everyone so they are targeting those that are most at risk.
Carolyn, thanks - it isn't so bad that they didn't get the shot - they got the flu - but I think it is wrong that they would not allow my daughter the medicine to fight it - because someone else might be sicker than she is at this time. Strange if you ask me. *4U
I totally agree. Unless there is a shortage of Tamaflu, they should let everyone use it.
