You can mass convert your designs in Artista I use it all the time to covert the designs I digitize to Artista
Thanks, Tubby, so glad to see an answer from someone who actually uses the program, big help!!
I have Artista V4. I bring an alpha set or about 50 designs up through Portfolio - select all under edit on the tool bar. The icon for converting lights up and you can convert all at one time. It usually comes up with a folder on your desk top labeled "folder one". I then name it after I put the other one in a "trash folder" on my desktop. I put things in the recycle bin after I make sure things are good. If you have problems not being abe to rename or move things to the recycle bin because they are being used you just change it up some way that is different than the one you are trying to replace (-a at the end or something like that)then remove it later. Hope this helps you.
I don't have Artista, but I would think you'd have to convert embroidery files one by one. You can 'batch convert' photos from say bmp or gif to jpg, because these are file extensions that every program understands, they are universal. But because the embroidery file extensions are individual to the machine brand, and embroidery files are really more like little "programs" than like Word files, I think you'd run into a a lot of problems batch converting, that's why your software won't let you do it. I know that for my Janome, I use JEF. Some programs convert better than others, and PES files don't convert as well as say a HUS file will, sometimes there are mistakes in the conversion. If it can get confused on just one file, imagine how that could get compounded over tens or hundreds of files. Just do one at a time, and please CHECK how it converted before you erase the original file you downloaded!!! Would hate to have you find a total mess, then be unable to try it again because you erased the file. Best of luck to you, hugs, Marji
Hi Marie, will be interesting what the experts say. I also have Artista ver 4 and convert the designs as I download them. Luckily I have done this from the start. Just remember to delete the other in pes after you saved you art file. Enjoy. Elize
