What embroidery machine do you have. Each machine has its own programme as well as programmes like Embird. I have a Brother machine so I bought the Brother PE design to use with it. Digitising softwear is often not cheap so look into what you are buying with care so you get what you want. Then have fun and happy sewing
Hi, Andrea, first a caution about digitizing logos: you have to have permission to do that. The logo belongs to the school, company, team, etc., and it would be a violation of their copyright to digitize it without their permission. If the school wants you to do it, or will allow it, make sure you get it in writing. You don't say what ages, what kind of school, I'm thinking little kids/grade school here. If you're talking about college kids and college team logos and mascots, most of those would require a license from the team to do anything with. Just like NFL, NASCAR, big names can charge big money for those licenses. Be very aware of copyright laws if you're thinking about any kind of logo.
Now, digitizing of anything, I believe I've heard about the Embird free trial download many times here. I'm not sure you can save or sew out what you digitize during the free trial, maybe somebody that uses Embird or has used the trial version will be able to help you. I encourage you to try digitizing, but please know that there's a big learning curve, and it's not just learning the software. Besides the software, whichever one you use, there is learning "how" to digitize: pathing, push/pull compensation, density, etc. etc. You'll need tutorials on your software and digitizing essentials, which I believe Embird has, for extra cost? Again, Embird users will have to help you, I have Janome's Digitizer Pro, I'm thinking you don't need a $2000 program to do some school stuff. Good luck to you, I hope some Embird users can come along and help with more details. Hugs, Marji
Thank you for your help. The school is a private aschool that has asked me to see about digitizing the logo for them. I am very careful about the copy rights of organizations. I have a brother machine. It only does 4x4 but someday i hope to have a larger machine. Thanks for the info on the learning curves also. I am hesitant to digitize b/c I know it is not easy!
