Good Heavens! I nearly did a back flip when I saw this post at the top, it seems so long ago, nearly five years, and so much has happened to all of us since then.
Thank you all so much for the lovely comments, they might just inspire me to finish some of the other quilts I started way back then. :-)

Good for you! I think that you did a great job & I bet you want to do another quilt too!*4U
Thank you for sharing this with us as it turned out beautiful. I have these designs all but the sleigh and I am going to try this one this year. I hope mine turns out as nice as yours as it will be my 3rd quilt and I still am not too sure of what I am doing.
I like it- the cardinal is my favourite.
But obviously there is a cat in your house- so I wonder how you managed to finish the quilt... those furry terrorists tend to conquer the project very soon and lay like stones upon it.
Impossible to work on... ;-)
Meganne, this is beautiful. Well done. Look forward to seeing what you do next.
Meganne, Beautiful, that sure does not look like a "First Quilt" Hahaha! Great job!!! Hugs, Judy

Sarah.
You did a wonderful job. I'm very impressed with the time and effort you obviously put into it.
Meganne, I know you did this last year, but you did an awesome job! Have you done anymore quilts by yourself since then? Great job!
Thank you for the wonderful comment, I'm grinning from ear to ear. :-)
I finished a rag quilt last week. It was started by the sewing group and all but 3 ladies dropped out, so I was left to stitch all the blocks together and finish it off. I'll post it to Projects when I get more time. hugs n roses, Meganne
Wow! Thank you all so much for your lovely comments. It gives me encouragement to start n the next one.
Hugs n roses to all, with much love and appreciation

It's lovely Meganne. Great job on your first quilt. Your label is perfect. Making me feel quilty here cause I haven't even started mine yet. I have all my block designs and fabrics, just need a push.
Meganne, great job, I'm sure your brother and wife is going to love it - Hugs Yvonne *4u
It's a beautiful quilt, something to be proud of and your brother and sister-i-l will love it. Such a beautiful gift! Nice to see your smiling face as well as the quilt.
Oh Meg, I love, love, love this quilt!!! What a wonderful gift - they will love it as well!!! You did a "first rate" job!!!! 4U* Hugs, Laura
Meganne this is beautifull !!! I wondered which one was yours, and this particular one was so lovely, because of the lovely chistmas colours you used. I particularly liked the fine red around the edge. I am waiting for the next quilt blocks (men), and will give it a good go. Congratulations on a job well done.
Hugs and God bless
Marietta
Meg - this beautiful and quite an accomplishment to have done. I did not even get mine started, so you are a winner regardless. Job Well Done!
Beautiful, Meganne!! I'm glad you told the sizes of the designs and blocks, because I have some blocks I want to make, and wondered if 5x7 designs would work up large enough. I'm just not into fiddly little 3" squares, hee hee hee, unless they're made with strips and then cut. Your quilt worked up beautifully, that's just the size I'm looking for! I'm sure your brother and his wife will just love it, especially since you made it all by yourself! Hugs, Marji
WOW, what a great quilt. I bet your brother and his wife will love it. It is gorgeous. *4u Lynn
Great job Meganne, one Xmas gift down and how many more to go!!! LOL *4U hugs x0x0x0x
wow you are so good. Maybe one day I will also do a quilt. Tks for sharing with us
wonderful quilt Meg, beautiful blocks **********
Megganne, your quilt is beautiful. Your Brother and Sister-in-Law will love. I just love to make quilts. I like to have someone else with me when I buy fabric for a quilt. I don't have any trouble making a quilt but just don't like to pick out the fabric.
Thank you :-) I am thrilled with the end result and really enjoyed the shopping with Pauline.
Beautiful. It will be such a wonderful gift to your brother and his wife. So talented.
Meg it is beautiful the choice of fabricss are just wonderful
My first quilt I ever made I painted the center of it I made it for my mom for mothers day.
Great Job Meganne, have you begun to think about the next one he he
Thank you :-) Yes I had already started embroidering the blocks but found the designs needed repairs to the digitising so have put that one aside til I have more time.
Meg it is gorgeous. If you had the cuties voting you would have won for sure. Keep up the wonderful work now you will have to start quilting more. From experience both are addicting. Now instead of a thread stash you will have a fabric stash. LOL or has it already started. thanks for sharing. Hugs Lisa
Thanks Lisa. I already have more quilts in the planning stage. :-) The fabric stash will have to wait until I have more room to store it. LOL!!!
I love that, great work. Getting me motivated to do something today. Thank you
I love it Meg! I think you did a great job! I also noticed something else in the picture... You have a whole head full of beautiful hair! The last time I saw a picture it was fine baby fuss. It sure didn't take it long to grow back in and it is so pretty! In this picture, you could pass as a twin to my lifetime best friend. well, except for one thing, she is only 5'1". I wish I could send you a picture of her but I do not have a recent one. You really could pass for twins!
Glenda is a genius on a sewing machine and does beautiful hand embroidery but does not have an embroidery machine. We are total opposites but love each other like sisters! She is 1 day older than I am. She was born on Christmas Day! I wish she could see this Christmas Quilt. She loves quilts. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks so much Linda, I'm only 5'2".
I love sewing, there's nothing more rewarding than turning watching a piece of fabric evolve into a garment. It still gives me a buzz after all these years.
well you should have won, this is beautiful.. lots of time and love in this.. I will give you the prize..
Your brother and wife will love it. You have done a fantastic job with it. Hugs mary
This is beautiful. Hope that your brother and his wife love the quilt. I like the lable that you have made for the back
Thank you :-) I hope so too, his wife never celebrated Christmas before she came to Australia.
Great job! I know it's a good feeling when you've completed a project!
