Beautiful, as was the other design! You have done a wonderful job on these!
Have you any tips for using the metallic threads? Would like some help, as I'm trying to make a Xmas Bauble wallhanging. Thankyou.
Iused 4 needles for 16 embroideries, so tip #1 is change the needle when thread starts to fray, metallic seems to blunt the needle quickly. #2 make sure the design is not too dense. I digitized them with the density set at 5 instead of the default 4 for fillings and .5 higher than default for satin stitch. Maybe you can lower the density of designs? Test stitch with metallic first, maybe not the whole design but at least a filled part of it and see what happens.
#3 stitch at slow speed! I set my machine on 400 st p min and that worked finr for me.
Thankyou "mops" will try again! So far the metallic is not looking good.
This is wonderful!!! I wish you could make it available for us to purchase. I could put it on things that I stitch for the Spa and Boutique. They love wine designs and I think they serve wine to customers. I have never been to spa section. Too pricey for me!!! This would be so good for wine gift bags, don't you think?
I think you might be right, although I never thought of wine bags when I made it. What inspired me to do this were the first verses of John 15.
Anyway, I think the design is too big. I measured the circumference of a wine bottle (24 cm) and the hight of the thick part (17 cm). The design is 12 cm wide and 24 cm high.
I am sure this will be admired by everyone! Professional and beautiful Martine!
Thank you. my dad is staying till Tuesday, after that I'll send you what I promised.
wow this is real great work and lovely design
hugs Sonja
Martine, these stoles are beautiful! You have done a wonderful job!
Thanks, Yoriko, as I was left completely to my own devices a lot of time went into thinking what symbols to use and what sort of embroidery to choose, applique, full colour. You can see what I eventually went for: fairly simple gold embroidery.
I admire your work so much, it's difficult to chose a design to go with something, and you did a wonderful choice on these ones!
Just beautiful and your work is great. Thank you for sharing this with us. **4U
Martine this is just beautiful - great job with the scanning of the vine leaves. I love the simplicity of the design - I often think the more simple the design is, the point that the designer is trying to get across, is easier to understand.
Great job - love and blessings Chris
Thank you, Chris. I was told to do just what I liked, which is far more difficult than strict guidelines. So I did what I liked best: rather simple designs that can be recognised from a distance as well.
