May I please say something. LOL. I am not a English speaking person, my language is Afrikaans, and English is my second language. I always try to write English as well as I can, but must say that sometimes I am not so sure about some spellings.
Soooo !!!! please excuse us who are used to speaking other languages as mothertongue for spelling mistakes. LOL.
Hugs and God bless.

I find these things all the time and usually just contact the site to let them know. I actually made a friend with a bed company manager who was thrilled when I told him there was a word misspelled on his website. There is a problem with typos, too, but don't most word processors have spell check? Guess we had all be very careful to check anything we send out from now on.
I contacted a site to tell them of an error and never heard from them - it was an error of the sort that the information that they had on their website was the complete opposite of what they had intended. Another annoying thing - junk mail - had a flyer from a photographer which was one third of an A4 sheet and was torn not cut - do you think I will use a photographer that can't give a good first impression?
Definitely not picky and definitely not just you. It's extremely irritating to see spelling mistakes anywhere. Surprised no-one has mentioned the 'merrychritmas' font.
A question. - If one can't spell, how do you know you have spelled a word incorrectly?
I know use a dictionary - but if the word is not spelled the way it sounds???????
Also should the world use UK or US spellings. I'm English so as for US spellings...... No offence to anyone just to widen the debate.:o)
I spell the US way because I live in Illinois, USA. If you are UK, spell the UK way. But I think the word "design" is spelled incorrectly in both our dictionaries. If you can't spell the word and can't find it in the dictionary, ask a friend who can spell. LOL
I meant to say that OPW's spelling is incorrect in both our dictionaries. DH interrupted me before I read over my entry.
If it was on paper you could correct it with a red penceil :) but I advice you not to do this on the PC screen LOL.
but you are so wright!
Being a former teacher, I'm very picky for grammar mistakes too, even to spoken mistakes, always used to correct my students when they say or write something wrong :). But English is not my mother language, I may have many mistakes in my website, would love to have someone to correct them for me :)
Hugs,Yoriko
Yoriko, you are perfect. I always enjoy reading your questions and answers and love your designs. Don't change a thing.
I know of a wonderful site with beautiful designs that has about 7 typos... one may be an oversight but 7??? I think it makes the site look unprofessional & I tend to be "iffy" about buying anything (kind of like if they aren't looking at their typos that well, they may overlook how well they treat a customer's order).
Funny isn't it how we can all be bad spellers when it comes to typing; obviously someone didn't proof read what they wrote. Just smile :)
That kind os stuff always bothers me! If you open the "freebies" tab on this site, the little header at the top of the browser, says "freeDies" and that drives me crazy. But hey... I am the queen of TYPOS, so I really have no room to talk! YIKES!
I used to find typos in IBM manuals & I still find them in books sometimes. It always amazed my boss.
This is just be funny... you might want to edit your comment and change "os" to "of".
Yes, (sigh) I noticed that. LOL Typos I forgive. Professional ads is another story.
I'm sorry, it bothers me, too. And I'm NOT an English major. But, I don't text either. I worked my way through college typing medical reports and had to know how to spell. I can accept most typos but I am really bothered by their, there, they're, your, you're, and similar common errors.
I'm with you *there*. Another common misuse of words these days: 'bring' and 'take' (which drives me nuts). It's just little pet peeves, no biggie.
No, you are not picky. It should bother you, because nobody proofread an ad that is going out to millions of people. And unfortunately, half of those millions won't even notice the typo. This is why kids can't read in this country, because nobody gives a darn about spelling, proper English usage, sentence structure... on and on. Yes, I am an MA in English. And I have driven out of a Wendy's because they spelled 'potato' "potatoe" on a sign. I'm too old to believe sloppiness is a virtue. If you can't proofread your ad, are you just as sloppy testing your designs (or deisigns, as the case may be)? Sorry, "close enough" isn't good enough for me. I won't lose any sleep over it, but it sure didn't win them a customer here. Hang in there, girl, there's at least one more picky old bat out here, hee hee hee. Hugs, Marji
