I pin lines vertical and horizontal to help line it up. It's always useful if the towel has a flat border to embroider on or to help with lining up.
See you got what you wanted- Welcome to Cute.
Before I place my towels I put pins to make a line so I can see that they are lined up straight. Hope this will help
Hugs Yvonne

First I must say welcome to cute i see your new. Try this site for lots of free fonts. All are free.
I have tried a few and stitch out ok.
I like to do my bath towels with around a 4" height and hand towels with 3". The "Gold Font" on this site it great as I can size it as large or as small as I want, however it isn't plain block. I have several as part of my Editor Lite program, and the one I use for that is called Blackboard, but I'm sure it is called differently elsewhere.
I find Viking's "Block" a bit thick, too, especially in a large(r) size. Do you ever use QuickFont? I like Arial done in Quickfont.
Thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate the help. That was exactly what I ended up doing. I made the font 1.5" and it seemed to work perfectly - though I had to go over it a second time to ensure full coverage (even with a water soluble topper).
Do you happen to have any advice on how to ensure that the name is straight on the towel? I thought I had it pretty well marked but it ended up being about a 1/16" off - it's hard to make sure the towel is parallel across the machine since you have to roll up the sides to fit. Are there any tricks? Thanks!
