ok u now know what initial we use on the napkins but what in the heck will get the grease stains & some of the food stains out of said napkins. Mine keep looking worse & worse. I have some lovely red, green, blue all solid colors & I cannot seem to get the stains out. *
Actually, I usually use a bit of dishwashing liquid (hand type), or liquid "Tide" rubbed into stains like mustard, red wine, etc. before regular washing. It usually works! Most of those stains tend to be protein based and these usually take care of that. **4U
Miss Lill, Dawn Dishwashing liquid will remove the grease. Just put a drop on the stain and rub it around and toss into the washer. I don't know if it will work after you have dried them in the dryer, but it does if you catch it prior to drying.;)
I put small fruits on my everyday napkins. Then when a friend visits, I ask what fruit they want, and I give them a napkin with that fruit on it. Jan
Last initial of the family name. *4U
I was wondering what others have done. Thanks for your input.Sometimes for fun I have done numbers..eg. 1,2,3,4,... It can be boring always doing the same initial!! Thanks! **4U
Put your surname (last name) initial on all of them, unless they are for family members at home all the time, eg children. If they are to be used at a dinner party, then the surname initial is the best.
I just put my last initial. I tend to use them over and over and since we are trying to be more aware of the earth and her resources, we use cloth napkins daily at my house, so I have a couple of dozen.;)
Thanks. We also use cloh napkins at every meal...then I put our first name initials on those. We also have a regular group for dinner parties but you all are right, our surname initial is more practical. **4U
I would just put your last name initial on the napkins, that way you can use them again. What would people do with one napkin to take home, unless you end up making everyone a group to take-and who has that kind of time at the holidays???
