I bought the program from Designer Gallery Studio Plus. You can set up your catogories and file the designs accordingly. It is very user friendly and quick to find what you want. You can create any catogory you want quickly too. I love it! I also have the Custom Works that allows me to change any design to my format, Size, etc quickly also. I love the density works too.
I have a brand new studio plus still in the box untouched. If anyone is interested I will sell it a lot cheaper than it goes for. I already have the program I don't need two. Suzanne
I have folders such as animals, and this folder is divided in cartoon and normal, then in cats, dogs, birds, etc again. And so I do it with all embroidery. Besides, I always copy me to the respective image. Then I see it right on the PC, which I like. I hope you can understand my bad English.
You also have Ann the Gran Catalogue express. you can see all you have in there. You have to Catalogue in right place i.e dogs by dogs, cats by cats etc etc. You can also open the design from there.
Free trial for a month
I store the designs in folder by subject. But I also save the pictures of the designs in documents using Microsoft Word. That way if someone asks what kind of designs I have with "roses" I can print them off and let them decide which design they like.
What a good question, I have hundred and hundred of deigns received in my computer, the work will be very long to open and to organize all that. I read all your good advices
I always save a picture where ever I can and keep with the designs file, this saves having to open the design in the machine format each time to see what it looks like.I then put them in Folders with sub folders as well like a lot of others do. This helps having pictures when you are trying to find a design quickly. I keep any without pictures separately, in Folders and Sub folders Hope this will help Good Luck
I have sorted mine by subject learned that certain files have a lot more than others but I started out with animals then subcatagorizes like birds, bears, butterflys and so on. to keep track of were the designs came from when you dl add it to the file name before you save that way it is always with the design,an example would be (bear with stocking cutey) I know cutey is this site or I name an entire file (merryxmas alpha cutey) this is the alpha we are collecting right now this would be under fonts then my subfolder is U-Z for xmas fonts or anyfonts starting with these letters. For the color charts I just leave them with the designs, my program lets me see my designs in an icon look so I do searches for what I am looking for, I have heard of someone else printing a pic of the designs and creating a 3 ring binder so she can just browse her binder for the design she wants, sounds nice but must use a lot of ink LOL
Good luck, over the past couple of years I have sorted and resorted files. just wish I had learned to put the designers name with them in the begining have a lot I have no idea were they came from. Oh well live and learn as they say LOL
I created different folders with titles like ALPHA, CHRISTMAS, FSL etc. Often I create subfolders like ORNAMENTS, SANTAS under FSL for instance. I do rename the files to include the the site I purchased or downloaded from. The program I have tells me the colors so I am not worried about them.
I also use the site name, if I use the design I want to know where it came from as to give the digitizer credit for their design. When I download the design and take it to my machine the machine gives me the colors to use. When I print designs from my computer it also prints the colors, so I do not save extra color charts. H&*
Thank you. I appreciate you taking time to answer. Aren't these designs wonderful? I didn't realize there were so many available! Treasure trove!
