I have had this design for some time, but only decided to make some after I was cleaning my sewing chest out and found the little embroidery scissors that I had purchased some time back. The design is from A Stitch A Half - it is quick, and all done in the hoop. I changed it a little, and actually did the applique portion a little different. I used soft and natural in between 2 layers of fabric for the back. I have a couple more I need to make - I want to send these to my sisters, and possibly one each to my daughters in their stockings. I had issues with the first one I made, and swore that I would never use metallic threads again. I am beginning to think that it could have been the thread. But, after breaking about 5 needles, and many thread breaks, I quite, and used my poly threads to complete it. (this is the one in the middle if you are interested)

Fantastic job..very pretty! like you I have discovered that some threads are inferior to others, and it's best to use the best you can afford to get the best results...
