place of purchase, and they couldnot help me. I was so upset, I told the new mgr that I guess I should just get a new machine, She smiled sweetly, until I told her "Someplace else!!!", and left. She had recommended me to go to another sewing store. They sell different machines there. My DH bought a Brother PE 750 D. My problem I hope someone can help me with is::: I have 4-D software, and it will do pes or hus, etc. My new machine has a 5X7 hoop as well as a 4X4, and a card reader we bought. How do I use one card reader then switch to the other? I D/L the driver for the pes, and computer said it is ready to go, but my 4-D says there is no card reader attached. I'm sure there is a place where I can tell 4-D to reconize the pes reader, I don't know where. Can someone help me? PLEASE??? My DH rigged up my Viking to work for a while longer, but I do want to be able to use both machines, if they will run... Thanx so much for your time and trouble. AND Merry Christmas!!!

Judy, I don't know what to tell you - I have only been using the 4D software for a short while and have never tried to load any of my PES designs to my reader from it - as I also have the Palette Program for my Babylock machine (which is a sister to the Brother Machines) - I do know that the 4D Software will allow you to put your files onto a disk or a USB Stick - do you have either of these that will work with your machine? Good luck and please let us know - how you worked this out. *4u

The Husqvarna software can put out designs in most formats, including pes, but it can only write to its own reader/writer. So I have a Brother reader/writer and the simple PEDbasic to write pes files to the Brother card - not directly from the 3D software but from the embroidery files - just save them in the both formats (vp3 or vip and pes). That works well for me.

in 4D config there is a tab send1 and send2 they have dcard reader/writer it states it's for designerII/plantinum series/ quilt designer II
so I do not know if it will work on your reader but good luck.
What is wring with your viking?
mine was giving me trouble upper tension was slipping called my dealer who asked what I had been doing told him just embroidery, he told me to take my arm off and sew a few stitches it resets the upper tension. stated you need to do it every so often when you are just embroidering for a long time with no sewing. worked and back in business.

Thanx so much Michele, I will try both suggestions. My problem with Viking is that the U foot grabs the material and bunches it up as it sews and ruins the design. I was doing ornaments on felt, and tried everything I could think of. Thought if I could get a new foot, maybe that would help, no such luck. Order will take 3-4 wks. Thanx again
