I have been wanting to get this done for my husband for Christmas. It will go into a frame. I used felt and felt for the matting since I couldn't find the right size mat for it. This of course came from Cute Embroidery in the Cross Stitch section. I had trouble finding the various colors of brown from my collection to use. And did not get to a store that had a large variety. If I did it again I would change 2-3 of the colors. Some colors did not look as I expected. Over all I was pleased with the way it turned out. I had not tried this type of project before.

I'm sure he will love it. Just curious ... how many stitches were there, and is the WHITE the background, or is that actually white thread stitches? Thanks for sharing.

The sky is background fabric. I counted the stitches of the 4 panels, the number varies from 600 to 38500 stitches totalling 109800. Have a look at the designs in the CrossStitch section.

clawton by clawton 22 Dec 2009

You are correct, mops. The background is the fabric. I used an off white heavy felt.
