I've been checking back every day to see if you've shown us your new dolly (via a photo of course lol) or to find out this precious little one's name/brand, so I can get one too ...suspense is killing me lol. Hope she's getting lots of love :)
I'm a doll addict too, so I'll congratulate you on your xmas prezzie. Now please, do tell - whats the name of the doll? Is it a new Baby Alive? I'm busting to know (as are a few others I see here lol).
Merry Christmas :)
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, and do not let anybody tell you are crazy. It is marvelous to still play doll, especially if you have no grandbabies to spoil. LOL. You have a lovely time with your "own present"
Hugs and may God bless you always.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Marietta
Thanks Marietta, I think I am going to wrapped and put it under the Christmas tree ans surprise myself!!!!!****
You are not crazy! :) I still have my doll collection from when I was a child (including doll bed, high chair and tea set) and I make ceramic dolls. lol :) I also have dolls that my grandmother and great grandmother played with. Merry Christmas!
I did to used to have my mothers collection as well as my own, but all that was left behind in Cuba.*****
My sister, who never play dolls, have a beautiful collection of porcelain dolls, she had been buying then for when ever she had a GD, but she only has a GS, she had and only child and he was killed 4 years ago, so she is going to give them to my GD, she knows my GD don't play dolls but her collections is so beautiful my GD will love it anyway.***
Oh, no - now you have me wanting one, and hubby told my girls to quit bringing me dolls. I love my collection, but am running out of space to put them. LOL But, Merry Christmas to you, and good that you got yourself something.
My was so cheap, but so cute!!!it looks like a real baby but don't have to change diapers.****
Well Maria, if you're crazy, then so am I because I still buy any doll I see that I fall in love with and every morning I give my Salihah Regina a hug, along with my favourite Teddy Bear, Francis and my Sharpei puppy (stuffed but so real looking, I had to have him)
Then of course there is Shirley and Peita and Jessica and.............
I'd better stop or I'll bore everyone to tears.
You enjoy your new baby Maria, it is young at heart people I enjoy making my dolls for the most.
Hugs n Christmas blessings, Meganne
Oh, Meg - these are great. I love them. They would make a nice addition to my collection.
Thanks Dlonna,
Yes I love my girls, I have many more that I made and/or bought but nowhere to put them until we move back to my home next year.
I have one that is a "one of a kind", not another one in the whole world, I hand carved her face and she is totally hand painted (ceramic).
No 5 above is the first porcelain I made, also made her outfit and the others (3 & 4) I made everything they are wearing, yes shoes and all.
Yes, I love my girls.
Hugs n Merry Christmas
You are just so talented. I love that #5 and also the first one. I know that Santa is not leaving me a doll this year. LOL
Oh, no meganne I know that you and I are so Crazy...we could never get together because we may do something so terrible fun that would make the whole world green with envy!!!!Your dolls are gorgeous, my mom used to have a Shirley Temple collection, they were adorable. The one you make is my favorite.****
Pamper the inner child and be young forever. Merry Christmas
I want to see - where is the picture of her? Where can we buy one?
You could be doing worse things! Have fun! The things they make now are so different than when I was a child. I will be 63 the day after Christmas and I can remember my last doll. I was 5 or 6 and I got mad at Mama for something and threw her down and her head cracked. Mama told me that was my last and she meant it! Of course I was a tomboy and would have rather had a baseball and a bat instead of a doll! Merry Christmas to you! Linda
See that is the problem with my GD, she is the only girl on her generation, she has 2 brothers at home 3 more at her fathers home, 6 cousins...They all say they will be there around her on her first date...***
I loved dolls too.I had some Madam Alexander dolls, Barbie did not. that was my main Santa gift each year. one year i got a "Toni" doll. you could give it a permanent wave. Does anyone remember a Toni permanent?
Oh , yes, my cousin & I gave each other Toni home perms in our bangs - and I had a Toni doll... one of the first dolls with wash and comb hair. Seems like yesterday, not 1951(sigh).
