SOME OF YOU HAVE FOUND DESIGNS THAT AREN'T NECESSARILY

RELATED TO THE THEME, BUT ARE VERY LOVELY.....WE KNOW LORETTA LOVES ROSES...ANGELS TO LOOK OVER HER...HEARTS
FOR THE LOVE WE FEEL FOR HER....SHE LOVES RED TONES AND GREEN......MY QUESTION IS THIS......WOULD YOU RATHER SEND A DESIGN YOU YOURSELF CHOOSE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO REPRESENT HOW YOU FEEL
AND ONE YOU THINK SHE WOULD LOVE INSTEAD??????

I DO NOT CARE EITHER WAY HOWEVER YOU CHOOSE IS DEFINITELY OK FOR ME........VERONIKA'S QUILT WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT COLORING WAS BEAUTIFUL WHEN PUT TOGETHER WITH EVERYONES...

NEXT QUESTION::: SOME OF THE DESIGNS THAT HAVE BEEN PICKED ARE BIGGER THAN THE 4X4 SIZE.....BECAUSE OF THIS, WOULD YOU RATHER WE TRY FOR A BIGGER BLOCK TO ACCOMODATE SOME OF YOUR PATTERNS....

I think we should stick to 4x4 as not everyone has a larger hoop.

I think the 4x4 on a 6 in. block will be much easier to work with & even every thing out for the person putting it all together. Many only can do 4x4 designs. *

I agree

I think that the size 4X4" is good, and more easy after to sew all together, and perhaps all embroidered on a white fabric?

what ever is desided I think it should all be on the same color of fabric so please let me know what color fabric you choose , the design, and where to send it to also the dead line to get it in. I missed out on the other quilt but would love to get in on this one. I will have a machine this time

I think 4x4 size is good : everyone can use this size ! so a 4x4 size on a 6x6 block ? It's right ?

For the design, we can do rose, heart or angel in red and green color ! For example: I chose a pink heart at the outset but I will do it in red !

If we keep 4x4, more Cuties will be able to participate. I think that we should go for a wall quilt; I do not think that a bed one would be use...

I like the 4x4 size, my machine too :) I understood that it has to have rose, angel or heart on it, and I'm working on the design, digitizing one special to Ms Veronika. I have a question, the block must be cut in 6x6 to send to you? I'll need your address too. Love, Yoriko

Sorry Deanne, I must have missed the discussion on the theme being Roses, Angels and Hearts, my question is are they supposed to be "cute" designs as before for Miss Veronica, or can it be anyones designs

If we were to have a 6.5" square block, it would allow enough room for designs up to 6" square with a scant 1/4" quilting seem.

The designs that have appealed to me have been the ones I think Miss Loretta would love.... I seem to associate them with her, her age, her era, which would have been that of a more genteel time, when girls were young ladies, who wore gloves and hats and pantaloons, who sat at their spinning or embroidery (hand of course) or if they were lucky they would have the use of a treadle machine. They made quilts by hand, did beautiful tatting and lace-work, they painted fine artwork and played a pianola, beautifully.

I see these things as being part of Miss Loretta's youth, as I remember only too well, that many of these gentile ways were still in effect when I was a small child. They only seemed to die out in the aftermath of WW2, around l956.

Please correct me if I am under the wrong impression of life in the USA as it was before WW2.

I only know how I was raised, as a young lady, in the early 50's. Perhaps I am a romantic but I do associate Crinoline Ladies and gentility with that era in America. Especially during the Winter months.
Hence my choice of designs.

I know several people commented on the Antique sewing machine and we all know Miss Loretta still has her embroidery machine with her and still plans projects she thinks she will do...
I reduced the design by 17% but because it is an Emblibrary design and very dense, it did not take too kindly to being reduced. So I started looking for something else and I just love the Crinoline lady design, but again it isn't within the theme.

Then I think of how we started Miss V's quilt with a theme, which changed and grew as each individual picked a design that said it for them.

I have so many gorgeous designs, (as we all do) but after being awake for nearly 40 hours I am too tired to go looking again now, so if neither of these are acceptable I' go back to the design folders tomorrow.

The machine design is 4.84 x 5.86 and the Crinoline is 4.12 x 4.94" but it does have red roses in it. :-)

Hugs n roses, Meganne

The machine is from Embroidery Library, just type the word ANTIQUE in the search box and it will bring up several pages of designs and a few other machines besides this one.
I also have a love for anything antique or vintage for its nostalgic value of better days too long gone. :-(

I think we should stay with a 4 x 4 design, I like the idea of the hearts, roses and angels. Otherwise it may end up looking a bit strange. Lets stick with a theme here.
