Hi Cuties - I've been a member of Cute Embroidery and the two sister sites for as long as I've been a member of DesignsBySick, and had a paid membership here and there in the past, so do not need the old designs for myself - but I do want everyone who has not been so lucky to have the same chances that I have had.The voting system at DBS is working very well, and most of our wishes are fulfilled fairly quickly, so I am here to invite anyone who feels as I do to visit our forums to see if you would like to join in with us.I do not want anyone to stop being a Cutie - you do not have to participate in the DBS forums any more than you want to (lurkers are always welcome LOL), but if you want to pool with us for voting we would all be better off.
Hi Motoandnutty--I was just going to make a comment to Alicejackie's question. Alot of us are members of both sites. Awhile back, I suggested that if someone really wanted a design voted on, then maybe they should post it on SiCK too, because of the power of numbers. There are members of Cute that vote through SiCK, including me. On Jan. 2nd, we voted for Matistat's (sp?) cross stitch Z. Just a suggestion---(Because this site normally only votes on Alphabets after they are complete), is it possible for you to do a daily request list here? We hardly ever see a request for appliques, redwork, designs, lace and cross-stitch. It doesn't have to be the official voting request list--just an additional way to promote Veronika's sites. That's a good thing :) AND. . .sick and cute are not the only ones voting--the other day I saw a request for voting on another forum. (I was bored)
Why post the DBS voting request here when DBS is just a click away. There are threads already posted there for Cuteembroidery, Cutealphabets, and amazingdesigns.
I'm a frequent shopper at both sites, and try to support both.
The forums at DBS are well organized and full of great friends and information.
Because the Cuties read and respond to this forum--not everyone has the time to visit both sites, and aren't going to go looking on the tons of embroidery forums for who they can help by voting. Seems like a pretty simple thing to me. It would just take a second for one person from sick to post here too, if it's for votes--seems like a pretty easy way to get votes--don't you think?
Thank you for your positive response daisy530, it would of course be quite easy for one of the SiCKies to post their daily voting lists here - but that would only include the voting wishes for the DBS members, and I would feel a tad cheeky asking for other Cuties to vote that way without having the opportunity to add their own wishes as well. There are many times when we don't have anyone requesting designs in some of the categories, and we all love to vote, so we would welcome some new wishes. (Unfortunately the alphabet category wish list is rather long - but if you join the list you will get there in the end!)
I agree Moto, but the Cuties could still request and vote for the "official" request made by Crafter2243. It could just be an additional post--no one forcing anyone to vote one way or the other. Now then. . . . sit back and enjoy the entertainment tomorrow about the two Embossed "C"s. (maybe ;)
Heavens NO! NO! NO! Last weekend I googled "embroidery forums", and started reading a bunch of them. I wasn't looking for voting requests--I have a paid subscription to this site, so I don't need votes to get the designs I want.I like reading all the tips--there's alot of talented ladies out there. I guess my idea today didn't go over too well. I just thought that soooo many cuties missed out on Z, and why not help them? Just look at all the "thank-yous" Veronika got today. These were Cute members that needed that letter. Just because they have "dual memberships" doesn't mean they aren't a Cutie or a Sickie. We all love embroidery and learning from each other. We better not tackle world peace :) Have a good night!
I have just been reading some of the posts at DBS, and think that the following will be of interest to a lot of us - it makes perfect sense to me that we should join together with our "wish lists", - and they do have a phenomenal success rate!

That seems to be the usual for that site - the votes are wiped and the new letter replaces the lead, and then goes on for a full day as well.
I could wish that she did it another way - but it is her site, and of course she can do whatever suits her best.
I wish that the Cuties would pay more heed to our requests to join together a bit more - Veronika has said that she won't post a new alphabet until the last one is completed, so it makes SO much sense to try for any missed letters as soon as possible.
There is NO NEED for so many votes for the next letter! - it just seems a bit mean to block out all chances for those that miss something. (There are so many reasons that someone cannot download on a particular day - that it seems a little harsh not to have a second chance.)
...........................................quietly stepping down from the soapbox
okay ! good advice for the cute-sites. But sometimes there are also voting requests for Amazing embroidery.perhaps these can go on if there are requsets? thanks !
I agree with the DBS (and Cute) members below. If we bother to vote, we should help out those who are missing letters. We just saw what happened by letting the alpha run its course. Most Cuties know that the Christmas Font is over 2 years old, and alot of Cuties have purchased memberships and have it, but the New Cuties who have joined in the last month had no idea that this was old--they thought they were collecting a new set, so of course they are disappointed. Let's vote for the Z, and put this to rest. . . zz z z z z z z z :)
I would think that the Christmasfont Z is the next one to vote for alicejackie - see gillmay's post below.
Could someone tell me where the daily voting requests are posted on this site please? I have looked as hard as I can but don't see any current ones.
you can give crafter2243 a private message to ask for a missed letter. She will post a voting requset in Q&A. and we can vote for the suggested voting.
Sorry to be a bit green - but I can't find a list of requests since 30thDecember. Am I looking in the wrong places?
I don't have a request myself, but I just wanted to add my vote where it is needed.
Do many of you join in with the DBS voting? (as suggested by alfie)
Thank you all, I think I have my answer. It looks as though there is only request facilities for alphabets within the Cute community after an alphabet has gone from A to Z, and we need to go to the DesignsBySick forums if we want to pool our votes in any of the other categories.
I can understand motoandnutty's reluctance to post their requests here, because it could create a conflict, and everyone is striving for harmony.
I for one will gladly go and "lurk" to see what votes are needed.
I am in agreement with gillmay!
I have just seen a post at Designsbysick forum that is suggesting the same sort of thing - so I expect there will be quite a few votes from that direction as well. (They are a very organized bunch!)
Just a thought:
As a large number of Cuties still need the Z, why not get everyone to vote for that and NOT the next letter of the new font? It would only delay it for one day after all!
