Follow-up to my earlier postings : I've just got home from the most WONDERFUL and inspiring thanksgiving service at our parish church. The Archbishop did turn up - early, in fact, and he said he'd set off early and was surprised to find that the roads had all cleared. I spoke to him after the service (lovely man, he just came and mingled) and told him the story of Cute and the help you'd sent from all over the world in the form of bookmarks and FSL for us to sell, and that I'd told you about today and that I knew many of your prayers would have been added to ours: he thought it was a wonderful story and said to thank you all! We had TV cameras there too, and I was interviewed by the BBC as well as the local newspaper and told them both the story too - they thought it was a wonderful as well! The BBC programme (Look North) goes out just before the 6.00pm news tonight, so I hope my bit doesn't end up on the cutting room floor!

So - thank you from the bottom of my heart, from all our village and church community, and also from the Archbishop of York! Love from Dianne x x x

Well, congratulations Dianne, what an inspiring tale to pass on to your family.

I was thrilled to read of all the efforts you have put into raising capital for this beautiful church. Here in Australia nothing is much older than 200 years and so it is so just so mind blowing to imagine those churches in England built all those centuries ago.

Can you let us know if your story definitely made it to the news, maybe we can view it via the internet - anything's possible these days!

So glad you got to tell your story to the Archbishop and that all the bad weather cleared in time for him to make it. God is good!

Love and blessings Chris

Yes, it did make it onto the BBC news, and ITV news too, so I had my 30 seconds of fame (they even managed to spell my name right in the banner at the bottom of the screen!) - the whole broadcast item was about 5 minutes long, that's all, but it was aired twice yesterday, once at 6 p.m and again at 10 op.m.! and yes, I did record it :-) I'm still trying to see if I can find it on the internet, might be there somewhere! Love from Dianne x x x

Dianne, if you have it recorded - maybe you could put it on youtube and link it for us to view.

It's recorded on my satellite TV box and I don't know how - or if - I can copy it!

Dianne, what wonderful news - so happy to hear the full story and also know - that you have inspired so many to give and with leaking eyes - I am so happy for you and the church. I also hope you get on the news.
