HOPE maybe Estrellita00 sees this. I think she should have business cards printed and put together a portfolio with photos of her work and start visiting all the Bridal and Prom formal shops she can find in her area and maybe she would make a first connection. What do you think? Maybe contact some places that specialize in preserving wedding dresses, too.
When I saw this post, I also thought of the phrase "Small Steps" ... Get on a "group" website, to show how her talent differs from others. People do compare EVERYTHING, no matter what it is, with others. Start small, and build upward. So, "being in the right place at the right time" along with "talent and drive" can launch a career. The key is to first "START SOMEWHERE" and don't give up. Unless she REALLY wants to move, DON'T. If she is happy where she is, she can make it. With the WORLD WIDE WEB, people in the rurals become famous. That is just one person's opinion ... but what do I know? What good is ANYTHING if you aren't HAPPY!!
She does, indeed, do amazing and beautiful work! I have no ideas as to how to get her discovered, but I wish her much luck! She does deserve to be noticed!
her projects are beautiful. To me it seems the best she gets in touch with a bridal shop or industry, I think they will love these too for weddings and so on.
very talented indeed. she does say she would like to sell her creations in her profile....
I am sure someone would snap her up instantly if they saw her work...
Isn't her work amazing Katy? I am just amazed at her talent, and what about those beautiful wedding bustles? I too was thinking she would benefit from some sort of publicity.
Maybe as you suggest get a portfolio together and saturate the Bridal industry. You may want to check with her first, she may not want to do it. She may just like to do it for herself, if you have to do something under pressure it takes the fun out of it.
Anyway, good idea. See what eventuates. Love and blessings Chris
you made me go take a look at her work and I see what you mean. She is very talented, a true seamstress. She needs to go to NY or CA and work for a specialty boutique. There her talent would be seen by a higher end crowd.
