How is your husband progressing? Lillian, I'm sorry to learn about this;I do hope it is not effecting his eyes; it is VERY painful and it will test both of you with regard to patience and no doubt will be making you both very weary by now - you are both in my prayers - wish I could think of a funny story to make you both laugh - maybe one of the other Cuties can help in that department?

So sorry. I don't know much about shingles, but that it is very painful. Does stress bring it on? You must get him better before the great grand arrives.

Oh your poor husband. Shingles is not at all nice, I remember having ibroprofen and paracetamol on a very regular basis for quite a few days. Get plenty of rest yourself. Thinking of both of you

Thank u asterix. Just when I think he is getting better, more blisters break out. *

asterixsew by asterixsew 17 Jan 2010

I was lucky I had the blisters on my hand but it was horrendous all the same. somehow I got comfort from shaking my hand, sounds odd but it worked. Displacement pain? I just remember the paracetamol and ibroprofen worked wonders. By the time it was diagnosed it was too late for medication. Still thinking of you both

Certainly my prayers are with you and with him. Know it is very painful as my MIL had a bad case recuperated.
Be aware that there is a vaccine to prevent a recurrance of shingles; it is expensive though.

Thank u jacqui & yes I am aware of the vaccine & neither mdcr or my supplement covers it but he is going to get that injection when he recovers from all this.
Don't want him to ever have to go through this again. *

Oh my Lil, that is so awful, my Grand and one of my best freinds DH gets Shingles, too and everyone says it is the worst pain ever. I will be praying for the pain to ease and for you to be there for him in everyway that he needs you. Hopefully the meds will help and he will just have a short while in recovery.

Thanks Shirlene. He comes asking me "how long is it going to hurt like this?" I try to console but I know when pain is bad all u want is for it to stop. Prayer right now is our best adversary. *

Oh Lillian, I'm so sorry to hear this. Please tell DH he has my deepest sympathy. You will both be in my prayers. I'm sure it's almost as hard on you as it is on him. My Dad got hit with shingles last summer and I have never seen him so miserable. Hope the meds do the trick real quick. Keep us updated on how he, and you are doing.

Hi Lillian, so sorry to hear about your husband having Shingles. Ouch! I have had Hives (Urticaria) for the past 8 or 9 months on and off and I get "ratty" with them. I can't think what Shingles pain would be like - mine are just itchy and come up in huge welts. My Grandfather got them once and he said the pain was unbearable. I do pray that he is resting as I believe that is one of the ways to let it pass. I hope the medication has set in by now - I notice this was posted 7 hours ago - I will ask the Lord to please ease the pain and let him sleep comfortably.

I'll also ask the Lord for a sense of peace for you too so that you can cope with your husband's demands.

Ask and you shall receive! Love and blessings Chris

Lillian, I am sorry to hear this. I do hope he will re-coop quickly with the meds. I will definately keep both of you in my prayers! Let him know that we are praying that he will be better very soon. May the Lord bless both of you now and all the days to come. I am sure that you are losing sleep and worried also! You take care of him but do not let yourself get rundown doing so! It would not be good for both of you to get sick at the same time. Hugs, Linda
