emergency, going to garage sales or second hand store and buy a few things and then contacting the red cross and they will distribute your donations. Remember what the Bible say about What you do to my little brothers you will do to me....And this is time to help people in real need.Hugs and Blessings.

Maria, I'm sure if you go through the red cross they will be able to distribute whatever you send in the best time and proper manner. You have a wonderfully sweet heart.;)

The last thing i heard on the news is that they require water and there is a lot of things donated but they are unable to transport them to the people. I missed all the new on this sad event while in hospital If they cannot use the quilts they can be sold to help in otherways and if they don't need them now maybe a little later on they might and perhaps light weight quilts without batting.

Your heart is sure in the right place, BUT, they are announcing over the radio and news that the best thing right now is for financial donations....The timing is crucial for immediate needs and the RED CROSS is the very best place to contact...They cannot handle material things we would think they need...survival (water food and medicine) is what they are reporting to desperately need at this time and for a long time to come.....We all would love to help out in any way we can, but because of the hundreds of thousands that are dead or presumed with more and more each day, Just having clean water and food is more of the immediate need....I do not mean to put a damper on your wonderful heart, but please contact the red cross first to find out more....lol deanna

Great idea to send things, but please keep in mind Haiti has a tropical climate where it never gets cold, even at night. I think it would be good to check with the Red Cross first, to see what is needed.
