Gayle, During Christmas I have done as many as three bookmarks in one hoop. ( I did have to rotate.) I use H2O Gone stabilizer and use 2 sheets going different directions ( North South and East West ) Hope this helps Nancy
I have done more than one fsl in a hoop, making sure they don't touch, but have flipped, and moved them around a lot. I use the vilene type material, and put a piece of paper towel on the sides, atop the material before putting the top hoop in. It seems to give just enough tension to keep the material taut enough. Or if you are really not sure, after hooping, use straight pins and take a small bite of material where it comes out of the hoop, and make the pin lay across the edge. Then it cannot pull back through.

see you got the advise which I would have given, just leaving a *4 U all
Hi Gayle, My only advice would be to make sure you do not need to rotate or mirror your designs to fit them in one hoop as this may alter the registration of the design and your stitch-out will not be 100% accurate, it could even alter the stitches and not in a good way.
Otherwise, I have stitched as many as 8 letters and 6 miniature Xmas ornaments in one hooping without any problems. I do use good quality medium fabric WSS though.

I've done 3 in a 240 x 200 cm hoop without problems, just enough stabiliser, that was all.
I have done multiple FSL in the same frame and never had a problem. I do use like Lillian 2 layers of Vilene. So far so good.
Gayle I often stitch 2 FSL bkmrks in the same hoop but I always use 2 layers of WSS running in different directions. A lot of your success depends on the design itself. Make sure they will not touch one another, in fact I usually have a good space b -tween mine. Like shirlene says sometimes it works well sometimes it doesn't *
The WSS running in different directions is an interesting idea. I always just folded it and hooped it. I'll try that and see if I get a better result. Thanks!
Gayle, most FSL design should be stitched out in the closest hoop to the size that they are - however - you wouldn't be the first person - to want to save time and stabilizer to stitch two bookmarks in the same hoop. I have done it many times with great success. I have also had one or two that were rather dense and they had pulling away at the sides some and the outside stitching was not connected to the rest of the design - that is why most designers suggest that you stitch one at a time. Good luck - and happy stitching!
Hi Gayle, it has worked fine when I use heavy plastic wss, but once when I tried with thin/fabric wss it pulled and one bookmark turned out a bit bulgy, but it was rather ok after I had a heavvy book on it for a few hours. Good luck! Peggy
