Deanna I love the label . Like the blocks on red or white & don't think the outside color should be white. Soils to easily but what ever the decision I know I will b happy with it & so will Loretta.*

I like the colours in #3, but is it wise to do the outside border in white? The outside usually gets a bit dirtier than the rest.

I like choice #2. thanks and hugs!

I like the green in #4 and the red in #2 even though they are both dark colors - maybe you could use a light color between them. But then - I don't know anything about quilting - do what you feel is best.

I keep looking at the colour choices and IMO I think a darker, less obviously patterned, colour close to the blocks would not detract from the blocks as much as a fussy floral pattern does. After all, it is the beautiful embroidery blocks we are showcasing, not the borders, they are supposed to complement, not compete with, the blocks.

Just my opinion and probably not worth much to anyone else, besides, you can see the colours as they really are and once all the blocks come in you will probably find you choose something completely different. That's what always happens with me. LOL!!!

I like #2. I think the red will bring out the pinks and reds in the roses and hearts in the designs.

I vote for #3 and the label that Meg has is great It stitches out nicely as I have used it

I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. You made great choices. All of the pictures looked so pretty!

#3 is my choice but it is more work and would depend on how many blocks you end up with as to whether it would make the quilt too large with the extra border row.

If this was the case I would go with #1.

Hugs n roses, Meganne

PS, I just purchased a beautiful label design in two sizes you might like one for the back of the quilt with wording like : "Lovingly made for Loretta by the Worldwide Community of Cuties, 2010"

Size 1 is 9.4" x 5.4" size 2 is 6.8" x 3.9"

What do you think?

Love the label. I think this would look GREAT :)

camylow by camylow 18 Jan 2010

how beautiful...where did you get this from please....deanna

meganne by meganne 18 Jan 2010

Bought it from Emblibrary Deanna. Just let me know if you would like me to create the text and stitch it out, so I can get it done and sent off to you.

I was told all Quilts should have a label so the history can be traced in years to come. HNR, M

shirlener88 by shirlener88 19 Jan 2010

It is lovely - but could it say: "Lovingly made for Loretta by the Worldwide CUTE Family, 2010"
I know Loretta likes to use the phrase CUTE family so much.

gerryvb by gerryvb 19 Jan 2010

(where is it from?)

kezza2sew by kezza2sew 19 Jan 2010

Label is really lovely and still fits in with the rose/part theme....good on ya Meg, hope it gets to be used. You also are very generous.

manami by manami 19 Jan 2010

Meg, this is beautiful!

meganne by meganne 19 Jan 2010

Right on Shirlene, mine was just the first thing I could think up. It probably would have come to me after more thought. I'm still battling to remember words after the chemo, it had better wear off soon. LOL!!!

I'm going to cast my vote for #2. I think it makes the block pop to be white blocks on the darker red fabric.

Good colours in keeping with the theme of red, white and green. Love the idea of borders - they just finish a quilt off.
