Fray block is what u need & you usually can find it anywhere they sell fabric or sewing notions. *
I always pull the top thread to the back and tie it with the bobbin thread, then feed both threads through the back stitches.
I have this problem with my Viking 3D letters..just the last one. It did the same thing years ago on my Viking Rose. I now always put Fray Check or Fray Block on that last letter. But it's also good to turn your cutter off and then pull the threads to the back & tie them off. Makes me somewhat unhappy after what we pay for the programs!
you could also pull the top thread to the back and do an old fashion tie off LOL I know a pain just do not let your machine do it's cut and pull more thread from top and bottom, the fray check is quicker and easier, but you still have a chance of discoloring to the material or the hardness. you could also do a locking stitch yourself too, just stop the machine before the cut off and do a fix stitch for your ending, if you have the software you could always add it in so you would not have to do it at all this would be the best if you are using the same file alot.
I must buy some fray block. I have never tried it. I have used fray check for years and yes, it can show.
Well digitized designs should have a lock stitch at the end of each letter. (3 stitches in the same spot.) But I have had that problem too. Yes, you can use fray check on the end. Fray check may leave a dark spot and stay hard. Another brand is Fray block by June Tailor. It is much better for fabric, stays soft and clear.
Thanks. The free website I have been using must not do quality work. I will try to find the Fray block. It is disappointing to do so much work on a project to have this happen. My machine doesn't have good lettering either. Thanks for your help.
