I'm glad to see you're getting a new machine. Choose the one with the largest embroidery area that you can afford. Let us know what you choose and what you think of it.
Hi Linda, I have had my Ellisimo now since November 2008... almost 15 months now. I love it! Sews and embroiders like a dream. For those quilters out there, the bed area is huge! I quilted one throw quilt all on my Ellisimo and had NO trouble.
I really like the camera too. You get exact precision using the camera and the built in optical reader. No more having to "pray" your embroidery is tilted just right. This machine Linda is by far the best on the market. Baby Lock's software is user friendly (in fact, I have yet to read my manual). I would say go for it!
The Brother Quattro is the same machine, however Baby Lock offers a Gold Standard on their machines. UNCONDITIONAL protection for 3 full years. If you drop it, it's covered. AND, right now, they're offering 36 months, no interest. How can you go wrong? ;-)
I have the Ellegante and am VERY happy. Just upgrade no need to go up unless you are going to do as a business.
I had the elegante2 and now have the Elissimo I use the babylock programs....Studio plus for storing my designs, Custom works for creating and changing designs ,Density works for doing perfect designs every time and checking out designs I download for errors and hoop works to size designs. With these programs you can change any format into the one you need .They are all put out by designer gallery for the babylock and they work very well and are easy to use. You can go to the babylock site and download a trial of each program to try . If you like it I have a new unopened still in the box studio plus 2 I can sell you cheap. I don't need two of them. Let me know. Suggest you try out the programs,I think you will like them. Suzanne
I will download a trail version this weekend and let you know about your offer of the Studio Plus 2 .... Thank you so much!!!! Question...Do you LOVE the Ellisimo?????
Hugs
I LOVE IT!!! Does more than the Elegante and easy to use. The screen is bigger too with better high def. colors. The bed is larger for the bigger items too. Hated giving up my Elegante But not sorry one bit that I did. Ellegante who? Elissimo yeah! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!!!!Suzanne
I have the Ellegante 2 Linda. I love the ellegante & this is my 2nd one. Shirlene also has the Ellegante. I think it is a wonderful machine.
Hi lbrow...have you seen the new Ellisimo?
WOW!!! Stadium lighting and camera from the needle looking down...wow.
I REALLY like the Ellegante2-it has everything +. What software do you use?
Embird? or the Baby Lock Palette?
Linda, I have the Ellegante and I LOVE LOVE it. I have not even touched the service of what the machine can do yet and I have had mine for little over a year. Make sure you have a good service center available when you get whatever. I do and it is worth the advantage. I have had no trouble at all with mine but I am glad I know they are there if needed. Love my Ellegante. Nellie
Thank you Nellie for the info...I am so torn between the two machines...then there is the Emb. Professional Plus (commercial machine) What to do..what to do????
Hugs,
Linda
Hi..I had the Ellengante 2 loved it to death! Saw the new one and traded in my ellegante for the Elisimo without a hesitation. I have had it for about 8 months now. I think it does more, if that's possible, than the Elissimo. It has a lot more features and the camera is VERY handy in lining up border designs and centers etc. The hoops are bigger and give you more stitching room. But I missed my 5x7 hoop and bought another. Hoops from the Ellegante fit the Elisimo. I just bought the new serger Evolution Air thread from baby lock with the 8 thread. Now there is no stopping me! I always dreamed of having the two machines like that now finally I could afford it. I am so happy in my sewing room. It is fun to create again. Any questions feel free to ask. I will try to answer them for you. My machine came with the golden warranty. If anything goes wrong for the life of the machine they fix it for nothing. Good luck deciding which machine to buy but I tell you the truth, you won't be sorry at all with the Elisimo Suzanne
What do you think of the prices (below) for each??? Are they similar to what you paid?
I do have a service center dealer about 15 minutes away...just curious of the price. Thanks for the info.
Hugs,
Go for it!! You will not be sorry. That is a great price for the machine. I paid more than that and I am not sorry I opted for the bigger screen and the camera. Like chieflady said I have not used everything yet. I had the ellegante 2 about a year and elisimo for about 8 months now. It does a lot of things the elegante 2 did not do. It is worth the 7K for the elisimo. GO FOR IT! Make sure you get the best warranty with it and you can rest easy and enjoy sewing with no worries. Suzanne
Thank you Suzanne
Right now they also have 36 months 0% interst ...WOW...I think I'm going to do it!
Hugs
Linda, perhaps simplerosie will come along and see this - she has a Ellisimo - from everything I have heard it is top of the line and is so wonderful. I have sat and stitch on the one at the sewing center and loved it. I have a Ellegante2 and traded up from the Ellure for it. I love the machine and am so pleased with all the newer features. I never had a bit of trouble with the Ellure, but felt I needed the extra features and hoop size and haven't regretted a day with the trade. If I could justify the cost to up-grade to the Ellisimo - I probably would. Hope htis helps.
Hi Shirlene...Thanks for your info...I have an Ellure right now and would love to move up to bigger colored screen, able to merge designs etc. Price on the Ellegante2 is $6,000...on the Ellisimo is $7,000...what is your thought? more to go wrong on the Ellisimo? Hugs
We just got an Ellegante. This is our 1st emb machine. We are blown away. No prob. at all. Does all but wipe your.... Ive seen the next one up. Has a camera on your work to the screen. Wow but so much more to go wrong. And way more $$$ Saw the one below and it lacked a few features. We really enjoy our Ellegante,
Thank you dbw for your info....The camera on the Ellisimo would be an expensive luxury for sure!
I agree with all of the comments on how wonderful BabyLock machines are!! I have an Ellegante that is as near-perfect of an embroidery machine as anyone could want. Last year, I also bought a 6-needle BMP8 machine that walks-on-water (kidding!). I am thrilled with my BabyLocks and highly recommend them to anyone.
