Oh, and to clean or sharpen your sewing pins, make yourself a pin cushion but use a stainless steel Pot scourer to stuff it. Then just push your pins in and out a few times, removes rust and restores a nice sharp point on your pins.

You can do the same thing with a "steel", which is what you use to sharpen knives on, or you can use the neck of a glass bottle.
In both cases you use your scissors like you are trying to cut the steel or the bottle. Takes several passes but you can test in between and if you still have dull spots on your blades just repeat the process until they are gone too.
Doing this is also very good for smoothing out little nicks on your scissor blades.

I have done it to my paper scissors but never would i do it to my sewing scissors.
It is supposed to work with sandpaper too but I never heard about the tin foil......Thank you!
