I don't see pictures of the design and as far as I knoiw the problem is Window 7. That uses 64 bit and the Embird Iconizer needs a 32 bits version. I went through different Embird tutorials on different sites and found this.

The 64-bit edition of Windows Vista:
The 64-bit edition of Vista and also Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
use 64-bit version of Windows Explorer, which cannot load libraries of
current 32-bit Iconizer plug-in.
To work around the Windows Explorer issue, you must use the 32-bit
version of Windows Explorer:

Click Start, click Run, type the following in the Open box, and then
click OK:

C:\Windows\syswow64\explorer.exe /separate

If you are using Embird 2008 with 64-bit edition of Vista, it will
automatically create the new shortcut "Windows Explorer 32-bit" on your
Desktop. Use this shortcut for launching the 32-bit version of Windows
Explorer which works with Embird Iconizer.

But when I click on my START button of my computer I cannot find a RUN button to press on and that is where I get stuck (spelling) Does any one know a sulution??? I think I must be doing something wrong. Thank you all in advance.

I was having the same problem with iconizer not showing up. After playing around with the buttons, I discovered that my "view files" box wasn't checked. After I checked it, the iconizer pictures appeared. Hope this helps. this is found in the files column~~where it says paste, launch total commander and next to that you will see a double box, one on top of the other. the top box should be checked. Hope I didn't confuse you too much.

I know you speak Dutch. On a Dutch group heard the same problem mentioned. Anneke is the one who sells Embird in Holland and always answers questions.
Contact her if you can or send me a private massage for Dutch Group
I have no Embird so take not much notice of it all

I love my basic Embird, and do not know how I ever lived
without Iconizer to view my designs. It works well on my computer with Windows XP, do not have it on the other computer with Vista.

Ruth of www.cantoodesigns.com has free tutorials on Embird and is so willing to help everyone learn. She explains things so down to earth; please contact her and
see if she can help. Getting Iconizer to work is a simple procedure, but I cannot offhand give you the steps. Ruth can be of great assistance to all of you
having problems with any Embird issue.

so "glad" to hear it is not only me. I specially bought the Embird Iconizer to "see" the pictures of my designs. Initially it ran for a few months and then just all of a sudden a white "page" replaced the pictures. And I ran it as Administrator. Had it uninstalled twice and same thing happened just quicker. A friend is going to do it for the third time this week. It is so frustating. I have contacted Embird directly - no reply from them. I have Vista and have no problems with my Bernine Version 5. ????????????????//

I had the same problem with iconiser with vista. Worked for a few months, now all I get is the thumbnail with PES or JEF etc written on it. But, I do love embird, apart from that inconveinience, its veryt easy to use.

If you need to find the run command box in windows 7 I can help you with that. Run is no longer a default item on the start menu but it can be added
so you can run the command that you needed to.

To add the run command to windows 7 start menu go to the task bar. Normally the last 1/2 inch at the bottom of your screen. The task bar is where the start menu is shown or any program running shows a little icon.Put your pointer on the task bar and right click .
A small menu will open go to the option properties should be last one .
Click on properties another window opens click on second tab near the top called start menu.
When the next page opens click in customize scroll down the list till you see the words Run command. Make sure the box to the left has a check mark in it click on apply then ok.
Once the menu closes if you click on start and now look to the right side you should see the word run.
This is the run command click on run and enter the info you were talking about in the text box. Hope this helps.Jberd

I have the same problem and wrote to Dusan Balarad with my concerns. He sent me to this link to try and fix it. I am using windows 7 on a 64 -bit system. http://www.embird.com/sw/embird/t...
I haven't tried this site to try and make it work yet. I'll get to it. It might be worth it but I just haven't had time to play with this. Give it a shot and let us know if it works. Then we can all get to work on getting Iconizer to work again. I really miss that! Linda.

Can't help you! I don't get my Iconiser to work on Vista although I followed all advice given. I really hate that, it worked fine on the old laptop that ran on XP. Fortunately I have 3D organizer to do a quick search, but I have to open that programme first. Bother!

I think the problem is more to do with 64-bit than Vista / Win 7. Read the Embird FAQ carefully http://www.secretsof.com/content/...
I'm upgrading my computer in the next few weeks, and having had 64-bit Vista for 2 years, because of this problem with Embird being even less compatible with the 64 bit version of Win 7, I'm quite happily going back to 32-bit for my upgrade to Win 7.

I'm not sure if this is helpful, I never upgraded to Vista or "7", still using XP professional, just to avoid those problems with my "old" but beloved software.
Did I get this right: Embird has no patch to allow it to run under Windows 7?

It might cause problems when you switch the whole system settings just to run Embird- better switch the settings just for Embird (right click programm icon and use the "record card" to set compatibility to f.e. Win95 or XP- the one you know it worked with).

Sometimes it is just a matter of installation- Embird is composed of some different Plug-ins and maybe they came in the wrong order.
Sometimes it helps just to install again.

I have the same exact problem, my studio wouldn't work in Vista and my iconizer won't work in Windows 7. What I did was to use Embird to export jpeg pictures for every file. Takes some time especially if you you have a lot of files but at least you can tell what they look like. Hope they come up with a fix soon.
