system has stopped working and that microsoft is working on the problem.... I can't seem to finish filling a card because of this. I start over at a later time and it happens again....even just looking at designs. I am SO frustrated!

I had a very strange problem with my ped basic also awhile back. To be honest I do not know how it corrected itself. What I did do was start a folder in C drive called embroidery and all designs I wanted to put onto my card I put into that folder and they all transferred. Maybe you can defrag your PC or try uninstalling and reinstalling the ped basic? I wish I knew how mine got fixed so Icould be of more help to you, all I know is one day I started it up and it worked just fine. One more idea, I do not know how long this problem has been happening, but if you do and you haven't downloaded any programs that you hate to lose do a system restore to the day before the problem started. THEN defrag. Hope this helps!

This sounds like a problem with your computer.

If it is taking longer to transfer designs it could be that a RAM module has developed a problem or your fans on your drive could need cleaning.

Make sure you shut down your pc and remove any power leads from the power outlet before cleaning the fans.
You should also remove the side panel and very, very carefully clean inside your Tower/Box, with a vacuum brush attachment, to remove any dust that has accumulated.

If this does not solve your problem you may need to take your pc to a technician to check the RAM.

Dusty fans cause the machine to overheat and the result is all sorts of different problems that you just can't put your finger on, faulty RAM does the same thing.

Sorry you are so frustrated, I cannot help you technically, but I am wondering if the designs you are transferring could be too large. I don't know why Microsoft gets involved, that may mean something is up with your hardware. Have you tried unplugging your PED, and then plugging it back again whilst you computer is off. I am sorry if you have tried this already. Hope you get sorted soon.
