I am inspired by all of your ideas here. I love projects that think outside the box. Question: Can anyone think of what to do with a Bottle Apron ITH design that has nothing to do with a bottle?

You could add a pocket and the aprons can have a paper tape measure and used as a novel school fund raisers in turn each class takes an apron home and for every inch measured on parents waist there is a fee of 1 - 5cents when i was at school we had that and it was a great fun fund raiser and in this weight concious world it may make some people think.

The first bottle apron I was given as a gift came with placemat, servetts, small aprons that fitted my Salt & pepper shackers with their name on, Tomato (ketchup) sauce & Hot Sauce Bottles, Gravy, Milk, sugar,Tea,& others with a large apron table centre with 'Wendys Table' on it & pockets to hold extra servetts. I havent seen one like it & the lady who made for me has passed on. It was made of a floral material & is long gone. I found it very helpful for the foster children as they tried not to spill any sauce etc on the aprons. also I received 4 teatowel aprons with the girls names on them, they loved them & took them home when they went. the writing was done by hand. A full set of different size aprons would be lovely.

I have used the bottle aprons on dish liquid, soap on tap, jars for cotton balls & bud, buttons etc
and just added names of what is in them

I can only come up with the obvious - use it for a doll. Any child would love that. Now I'll have a look what others suggested.

depending on the design, I could see some of these turned into a towel topper.

Sweetie, I take it you want to use the design, but not on a bottle apron. if you have software. bring it up and save as original, then click on thread or color changes and delete the apron part of design and you are left with the design it self to do what you wish, bigger, smaller or whatever. or send to machine and skip the apron parts of the design and only stitch the part you want. Good luck!

Actually I really was looking for innovative ways to use the bottle apron part.

You can stitch the apron onto a teatowel in one corner with the neck loop hanging over the corner edge and it then becomes a novel towel hanger or on a hand towel the same way as a towel topper

Make the HIA blank with whatever design/words you like on it and then sew it onto a real apron as a pocket? Leave the top open! hahaha
