I broke 4 needles. Then my machine spit some oil onto the light pink fabric I am working on. First design clock on machine said 47 mins to stitch out it took over 3 hours. Had so many top thread breaks (and 3 needles broke) I lost track, it was happening every 200 stitches or so. The design was very dense and the machine hated it. Then next design (also dense) broke a needle and got a rats nest and that one took 2.5 hrs to stitch out. Have the machine off now letting it take a break too lol.

Sounds like the night I had last night. Finally went to bed about 2am with a huge mess of thread in bobbin case and broken needle. This morning managed to get all back in order, my project finished and am friends with my machine again.

Yes I have had days like this but not in a long while. Don't you have a new machine? I believe if this is true the 2 of you have not bonded yet. It may behave a lot differently than the other machine & it may have an appetite for thread that is different from your other machine. The density of the designs can b reduced because Meg did it for me once. I still do not know how to do it. With a new and different it's kinda like learning all over again every little nuance & tick the new machine makes. *

Yes the new machineis being the buggar. I am taking it in to get looked at. I told the service guy the other day it wasn't quite right and he said he would look at it, it's under warranty so I might as well get it taken care of.

I wonder if your top thread is getting caught on something. The spools that have a pull and snap close bottom, make sure they are pushed up and closed. My RA thread keep getting caught on the notch at bottom of the spool. I make sure they are pushed up and closed now. another thought is to float another piece of stabilizer under hoop and maybe cut back on density of design. Good luck! Kay

Nope not the thread I tried at least 6 different brands, and it happened with all of them. If I use more stabilizer won't that make it just that much more dense? Not sure how to reduce the density, never have done that.

Sorry to hear that. I had a bad day also when the machine kept eating and bunching my thread... Is there something going around????

Sorry to hear of your bad day. At one time I broke 2-4 needles in every embroidery, shredded thread several times on same embroidery that broke the needles and had the machine back and forth to the dealer. Switched dealers and my problem was solved, a small burr somewhere inside the machine where the thread passes. It tool several months of frustration and wanting to get rid of the new SE. Glad I sought help elsewhere. I hope this is a one time bad day for you and hope everything works out well for you in the future. Good Luck
