Hello lerman, I hope you get your machine back soon. Mine was gone for 5 weeks! During that time I bought another one (second hand Brother PR600). Just love that machine. I hope you were able to make those in the hoop owls.

Peggy I am amazed. Yes there is some great work there, not that I have looked at all of it, possibly only a tenth. You deserve a bouquet for your viewing

Actually, it felt like getting bouquets when I enjoyed all the pictures and the tales about the stuff. But thank you!

It has taken me more than a week..... I do it on and off for coffeebreaks, otherwise impossible although the pictures are very interesting.

I know what you are going threw ! I left my machine to the shop 2 weeks ago and "I was turning like a beast in a cage"(french expression !).
I finished all my project in process, repaired all my son's jeans and called the shop many times to put pressure on the tecnicien who took ages to come to their shop !!
Good luck and patience !!

It's a pity our machines break down at times and need regular maintenance. Hope it's not a fatal illness and it will be back to give you hours of joy again soon!

Its my Designer thats getting service now, but who am I to complain after ten years without problems... I hope it will run along time yet, while Diamond grows out of initial problems maybe?

Ah Peggy, you and me both friend.

I put my Diamond in for a service because the embroidery arm wasn't moving properly, so designs weren't meeting up and looked totally wrong.

Seems really strange when I look at that empty space where it normally resides.

Let's hope it won't be long before our babies are back with us.

Meganne, I'm still considering buying a Diamond, but my Designer1 is still serving me faithfully after more than 10 yrs and hearing your Diamond is acting up I think I'll stick to my oldie - and 10 yrs IS old for those electronically controlled things - unlike our truly tested Elna Supermatics!!

meganne by meganne 22 Feb 2010

Martine, I could never recommend the Designer Diamond to you, it is a lovely 'SEWING' machine but the Elna Xquisite leaves it for dead as an Embroidery machine.
I originally stitched Miss Loretta's quilt label on the Diamond and was so disgusted with it that I stitched it out on the Elna, it turned out so much better.

I can honestly say (in my opinion) I have not been happy with any embroidery I have done on the Diamond and use it now for the 'less important' projects or for sewing and all the important, special embroidery, I do on my XQ.

Of course this is only my opinion as other people are thrilled with everything their Diamonds do and to them, the embroidery is probably perfect. I think it's all in the eye of the beholder. :-)))
It's such a shame the XQ has had other problems, lack of support, spare parts and service being the biggest problem.
My screen keeps going out of alignment now and I dread trying to get it fixed. Aaaaargh!!!
Hugs and roses, Meganne
