Not a sewing tip but still good to know. I heard somewhere that if you have a necklace that is all knotted up rub corn starch in it and the knots will come out. Did that today and it WORKS!

I'm telling ya all... It really works. Today I'm wearing a necklace that's been sitting in my jewelery box for years because of all the knots. I've got flowers for all of ya.

I used to work in a jewelry store and people would bring in their small chains all knotted up and want us to untangle them. Wish I had know this trick. It would have saved hours of picking them out with tiny screwdrivers the size of straight pins. We laid them out on a flat surface and spent hours getting the knots out. If we let the jeweler work on then he would just cut them and charge the customer for a solder.

I put a tsp of corn starch in a bowl and untangled every single one of my knotted messes. What a money saver not to mention no more frustration. I used to sit for hours with straight pins trying to untangle them or worse, buy a new one.

Same here; a needle and tiny tweezers were my tools. Took ages to untangle.
