Babsie, They are so easy to make, even I helped make one.
My very first quilt, I just love the way it feels and I believe it would get even better after each wash.

They are very easy to make. I am working on my second one for a couple new greatgrandbabies expected soon. Mine are made of flannel and embroidered with the alphabet for a baby quilt. pasister gave you some good links for the basic directions, then just let your creative side take over. My first one is posted in Projects. I'm using a different alphabet for the second one. Go for it, you will enjoy making one. Teresa

They are extremely easy. Use flannel and fray the edges. Free patterns and info here linked, hope I did it right! Have Fun!!
