I am thinking this is the set you have been having a problem with. I do not have any of Nicoles designs so I can't speak from personal experience but I have only heard praise for her designs and the lady herself. The clowns stitched out by Daisy530 look brilliant. I clicked on her photos to get a close up view and see very nice designs. I am tempted to purchase the set myself. I would try contacting Nicole again...may you somehow got a set of corrupted designs. I have not seen Daisy post for a while so she may not have seen your question to her. Whoops..just noticed Daisy has posted a response to you.
If you do purchase them please let me know how they turn out. I do not believe it is my hooping since that is the only set that I am having problems with. Thanks
I posted four of these clowns a couple of weeks ago. Everyone of them just made me smile. I'm finished with the quilt top and am in the process of quilting it. I used white Kona cotton and iron-on tearaway stabilizer. On the first one I did, the outline stitch was off enough to be noticeable. I was so disappointed that I almost started the quilt with another clown set. I decided to try again, and the second time I used the hoop clips to hold fabric tighter, as some of the designs take a 5x7 inch hoop. I also cut away the stabilizer instead of tearing it so the fine outline stitches wouldn't pull out. I hope to post the finished quilt in the next of days.
So are you saying that probably the outline was off on the first one because it was not hooped tight enough?
Thanks, I have tried every variation of fabric and stabilizer that I have and all of mine are messed up. I have stitched out 7 of them, some twice. I am not having a problem hooping any other designs.
Hi Maryjo--I don't know if it was the hooping or not. It took about 1-1/2 hrs to stitch out and by the time they were finished, the fabric had loosened. Because the outlining was the last stitches they off. I thought maybe I just needed a new hoop. Glad I used the clips :)
